To My Teammates,
I'm going to be honest; the first time I met you guys, I was terrified. It scared me to become a member of a new team with people who I knew nothing about. We were all from different towns and backgrounds, and it seemed like we had nothing in common. Luckily, I was completely wrong. I soon learned that I have the best team in the entire world.
We spend every single day together, practically. Workouts, team bonding, practice, and games; we have been through it all. I know just as much about you guys as I do about my closest friends. Whether it is on the way to our game/competition, in the hotel room, or on the playing field, we share so many memories together. You guys have grown to be my best friends. We have created an inseparable bond that no other team will ever understand.
I want to thank you. Thank you for putting up with me day after day. Spending so much time together can get quite annoying, but you guys never fail to be a positive influence around me. I know it is not easy that we have to see each other every single day and compete with each other. I'm sure it gets hard at times, knowing that we are teammates, but that we also have to challenge each other to fight for a spot to play. I am so glad that you guys are able to be proud of me on my best days and my worst. Without your support, I probably would have lost it or quit. You guys keep me sane and prove to me every day that it is okay to play poorly, as long as it was my best effort.
As cliché as it sounds, you guys make me a better player than I was yesterday. You force me to work hard and to never back down or give up. You inspire me to try my hardest every single day and to not get disappointed in myself if I have a bad day. You guys push each other and myself. We are a team and we do not play for ourselves, we play for each other.
Thank you for sharing the same passion as I do. Not everyone has the same appreciation for our sport that we do. I love that we have a group that truly cares about playing the sport we love. With the amount of work we put into this sport, it is hard to imagine not loving it.
We only get a few years together as teammates. Some of you I get to play all four years with, while others, I only get a couple short years that go by entirely too fast. But regardless, no matter the amount of time we play together, I know you guys will be lifelong friends. Every single one of you has influenced me in a different way. I love you all so much. We are a family and I have your back whenever.
So thank you for being the best teammates in the entire world.
Teamwork makes the dream work.
