To my future self--
I hope by now you are reading this, well on your way and living life to your maximum potential. All you have worked for should reflect on your life now. All the mistakes, accomplishments and challenges have probably molded your life to this point in time. I hope you have a passion for the job you hold and strive to make every day better than the last. I hope the dreams you have dreamt have been fulfilled through hard work, determination, and moral integrity. I hope you keep in contact with the friends, teammates, teachers, and family members that have helped you on your way. While it may be impossible to pay everyone back who have supported you both financially and morally, I hope you take the time to thank those who have laid the foundation of your success.
I hope by now that you are FINALLY married to a man who worships you, works hard, appreciates his Heavenly Father, and who isn't afraid to take on this crazy life with you. I hope you look into the eyes of your children and see the color of your father's eyes, the smile of your mother, the laugh of your little sister, the athleticism of your little brother, and the fearlessness of your older sister. I hope your children look up to you and hope to be you some day. I hope you stop fearing death, but rather live life like tomorrow doesn't exist. I hope you apologize when you are in the wrong and are humble when you know you are right. I hope you go out of your way to help your neighbors, knowing that you may receive nothing in return.
More than anything, I hope you remember to forgive and forget, to spare the judgments that plague today's society, and to shake off the regrets that have molded from the past. I hope you stand up for what is right and stray from making simple mistakes. I hope you realize that age is just a number, that you are young, strong, and have touched the lives of the people around you. I hope you bask in the memories you have made in your prime years, look at pictures and smile at the moment captured, and keep in touch with the people who have left a handprint on your heart. I pray that you have stepped foot on every continent, conquered your fear of heights, and learned to control your anxiety. I hope that you say "I love you" constantly and celebrate the accomplishments of others.
Finally, I hope you pray often, push yourself, take the time to understand, and make somebody laugh every day. Above all, I hope you remember who you are, where you came from, who brought you here, where you started, how you started, and the little girl that dreamt of the day she would meet you.
Sincerely,
Your "young" self
