Keep The Faith

How to believe in yourself and be happy.

Keep The Faith

If you have ever struggled in school, or any area of your life, like I have, then you will 100% understand the next few things I am about to share with you. Yes, there are many struggles and hurdles everyone has to overcome in life and nobody should bring you down along the way. Accomplishing something and being proud of yourself is one of the greatest feelings in the world and nobody should ever take that away from you. Not one person, including yourself, should ever tell you “no” or “you can’t do this.” Negativity is never helpful in stressful situations, especially when it comes to being in school trying to earn a degree.

Never, EVER, let anyone bring you down.

If you’re anything like me, you take what other people say into consideration, even when it may be negative feedback. I can’t count the number of times somebody has told I cannot accomplish something because of my struggles with learning disabilities. It only worsens the situation and changes your mindset to not be able to accomplish something. Others’ opinions should never affect you in a negative way because you do not deserve to be brought down by something silly and mean.

ALWAYS believe in yourself.

Trust me when I say I know it is easier said than done. After someone brings you down (which they should not be allowed to do) it is difficult to pick yourself back up. Through these times, you need to tell yourself that you are better than whatever they may think of you. You CAN achieve anything you put your mind to (I know I have). Believing in yourself is one of the most important qualities to have. It will only make you more confident and allow you to stand out.

Positivity is key.

Yes, there may be moments when there is no other way to look at a situation and say “this is awful”. Always know and believe that no matter what the situation may be, there is always a way to find the positive in the situation or circumstance. Did you get a bad grade on a test? You’ll do better next time. Did that boy not like you? Oh well, his loss. No matter what, YOU ARE GREAT.

HAVE FAITH.

Coming from someone who didn’t believe in herself for quite some time, I have come to realize that if you have faith in yourself, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. It may take hard work getting there, but through the good and bad times, you can get where you set your mind. Having faith in yourself will allow you to be the wonderful human being that you are. Nobody deserves to feel bad about themselves because of something stupid someone may have said, or because of one or two “bad” grades.

“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”

If Walt Disney believes in you, you can believe in yourself. Never give up on your dreams. No matter how big or small, if you set your mind to something, it can be fulfilled.

Although some of this may not seem simple, I promise you that no matter what the current situation is, you have the means to control it. I have struggled almost my whole life in school and learning to have faith and be positive has brought me to be a better person. I have learned to believe in myself to get through any tough times. I know some things may seem like the biggest deal in the world and that nothing will ever make you happy, but I promise, if you have a little faith in yourself, everything will work out in the end.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
