July 13 was the official 15th Anniversary of the release of the movie "Legally Blonde." I grew up watching that movie over and over again. It was an inspiration, and to this day is one of the only movies I know every word to. Elle Woods was a strong woman with a great fashion sense, what more could we want in a role model, right? Here are some of her quotes that we should all keep in mind on the daily.

1. "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands."

Knowing what endorphins are is very important, you never know when you could need that little fun fact.

2. "Bend, and snap!"

According to Elle Woods, this is a sure fire way to get any man. It's easy, you just bend and snap!

3. "Being true to yourself never goes out of style."

Honestly, this is something that every girl should have posted somewhere in her room because it's so true! Know it, live it, love it, learn it.

4. "Whoever said orange was the new pink is seriously disturbed."

Don't get me wrong, orange is one of my favorite colors, but pink will always be number one.

5. "Remember that first impressions are not always correct."

This is a life lesson that we could all learn from. Never judge a book by its cover and always get to know people before making any assumptions. People are always going to surprise you and shock you with what's on the inside, get to know them and love them for who they are.

6. "What, like it's hard?"

Proving people wrong can be really fun! Being doubted and then being able to come back and prove them wrong can be a great motivation (that is basically what this whole movie is about).

7. "It's pink. And it's scented. I think it gives it a little something extra."

Let yourself stand out and be known! Never be afraid to put yourself out there and get noticed. If you can make it cute and scented, that's an extra star for you in my book.

8. "I'd pick the dangerous one, because I'm not afraid of a challenge."

Challenges are what help you grow, they allow you to see what you are capable of accomplishing. Be dangerous; live life on the edge! Why not?

9. "I don't need backups. I am going to Harvard."

Always be confident in your choices and never take no for an answer! Backup plans are not necessary when you know you want to go to Harvard!

10. "You must always have faith in people but most importantly, you must always have faith in yourself."

At the end of the day, having faith in yourself and believing in what you can accomplish is the most important thing. People are going to judge and hate on you, but if you have faith in yourself, no one will stand in your way.

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

1. When you've finally found the energy to leave your dorm room and walk into the lib like

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
