For anyone who has me on Snapchat, you probably know that I'm a "foodie." I love food and all things related to it. I love going to quirky restaurants and being that annoying girl who takes pictures of her food before eating it. That's just something that I've always been into.

However, I've recently chosen to live an overall healthier life. I have become obsessed with eating healthier, drinking more water, and sticking to it for once. Not necessarily because I feel the want or need to lose weight, but because I just want to be healthy.

I want clear skin, I want to feel good when I wake up in the morning, and I want to feel good about what I am eating and putting into my body.

Most people hear "eating healthy" and automatically assume that it's eating vegetables for every meal. I can tell you right now, that is absolutely not the case. It is actually very easy to find healthy foods that taste amazing. I learn new things every day about what's healthy for me and I am always finding new foods to eat. I have become obsessed with going to stores like Trader Joe's and Whole Foods and looking for new things to try. Just being my typical foodie self, but healthier!

I still have a long way to go, and lots to learn, but I'm really enjoying the journey thus far. Here are some of the things I'm enjoying right now:

1. Granola

Granola is so easy to find, inexpensive, and has tons of health benefits. There are so many different brands that create different flavors that you can try, depending on your mood. I like to eat it plain, or even mixed into yogurt. It's amazing and healthy – score!

2. Egg whites

I'm sure many people will fight me on this one, but egg whites are amazing! I honestly prefer egg whites to regular eggs, so it's a win-win. They have tons of protein to hold you over, and there are so many ways you can make them. You can make an omelet with some veggies, or just scramble them and add some salt and pepper. Love, love, love.

3. Raspberries

It's no secret that all fruit is healthy, but I am currently obsessing over raspberries. They are literally packed with antioxidants and fiber, making them super great for your body. They're so cute and tiny, and they taste like candy! Healthy candy? I think so.

4. Quinoa

Anyone whose eating healthy will tell you they love quinoa. Well, I am one of those people! Quinoa is basically a healthier, better version of rice and I am so here for it. It's definitely one of the best grains for your body, and there's a ton of ways to eat it. I recently bought quinoa burgers from Trader Joe's, and to say the least, they are wonderful.

5. Water

Come on, this one is obvious. I have been drinking so much more water than I ever have before, and my body is loving it (except having to pee a lot.) My skin is clearer and I feel so much more refreshed. Drinking water with lemon will solve everything, tbh.

Bottom line here: there are fun and delicious ways to be healthy! You can still have a good relationship with food and be a "foodie" while enjoying healthy foods. Trust me!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
