In life we are always going to have to face those people who attempt to bring some of us down, whether it may be for our looks, style, career, schooling, culture, etc. No matter our age, gender, race, and class in society, typically there is always going to be a person known as a "hater."
A hater is someone who constantly hates on everything you do, from your music taste, style, job, the way you speak, to the way you connect well with others. They will find something and anything to bring you down, even when it doesn't even pertain to them — they seem to find a way to make a comment about you. Most of the time it is usually because they're insecure with themselves and are jealous of the fact that they aren't able to do things the way you do, however they will never admit it or see it.
There are various different types of people who are known to be haters. Sometimes a hater is someone that doesn't even really know you, just knows you based off others or your social media profiles, but has never actually had a real conversation with you. Those people should not be worried about, because clearly they don't think for themselves. Besides, we don't need any more ignorant individuals in our lives than we already have to deal with. Those haters are haters that shouldn't even bother us, because they do not pay your bills, feed you, give you love, do your schooling or work in your career. They do not do anything besides bring you down without even really knowing you, because they are bored with their own lives. Wave with a big smile to them: haters hate it when they see you happy and living like there are no issues going on in your life, even if you are still feeling upset because the Seahawks aren't playing like a back to back Superbowl team that has won one and lost one simply because we didn't give Lynch the ball. Just smile and carry on.
The next type of hater is a tough one. These haters tends to be the people who you could consider your friend or sometimes even family. These are the people who are extremely jealous of you because of all you are accomplishing. They want you to do good in life — just never better then them. These are the snakes in the grass you have to keep your eyes out for, and always stay a few steps ahead of them. It is a terrible thing to think that someone close to you could potentially be cancer to all you've accomplished, but it happens. It happens more commonly now then ever. It is truly terrible to think this way but if you have a "gut-instinct" that you cannot trust someone, that this person may bring harm or drama to you, then listen. Jealously is a terrible trait, and when someone is extremely jealous they will disrespect you on the low or attempt to make you look bad in a "joking way." If someone does this more than once and you get frustrated it is usually because they are close in the circle and are hating on you.
A prime example of a close hater would have to be someone who compliments you when no one else is around, but then disrespects you when others are around. I would much rather have someone disrespect me to my face and compliment me to others. It is like that saying of how "Parents are real, they will tell you basically you aren't doing good enough at whatever it may be, and basically keep talking sh** to our faces, but then when around others they do compliment us on the low."
If you have a "close hater" circling your premises like a great white shark about to eat someone in the water, keep your distance; avoid them, and continue on with your life. Notice a majority of successful people keep their circle extra, extra tight? They do it because they don't need any Debbie Downers, any negative vibes, any cancer-like doubters blocking them from possibly creating their happiness.
Ever dated or were getting to know someone on potentially a more then friend level (what our generation likes to call "talking") and they're actually a really great person from what you can tell, and you begin to get some sort of feelings for them and you tell a couple of your "close" friends, and one of them tends to always speak negatively about your new potential boo without even really knowing them, and especially only knowing them because of you? Or the friend that gets a little liquid courage and attempts to make a move on your new boo-thang or even possibly attempt to ruin any chance you could have with your boo by discrediting and talking down on you? Yeah, if you have ever encountered that, that is a someone who is jealous and a "close-hater" as I would say. Keep your distance, because if its with your man or woman, it'll eventually be with your career, your money, your happiness, and basically anything you've accomplished that they haven't. They would take it from you in a heartbeat to make themselves happy.
It is a terrible thing that we have to watch our own backs, but it can be a greedy, cold world, and you ultimately have to do what is right for you, and make yourself happy first. If someone doesn't respect you, then you must respect yourself enough to keep yourself away from those who don't and those who hate, because if you stay involved with them they could potentially give you bad advice to benefit themselves, when a real friend would want nothing but the best for you and to see you accomplish everything and anything you want.
Smile, wave, and carry on with your accomplishments that bring you your happiness and those who want to see you happy.
