To My Future Hubby, You Are Lucky To Have A Girl Like Me

You should know what you are getting yourself into.

Dear Future Hubby,

I feel like this is weird…mostly because I hate the word “Hubby,” but I don’t think I can write a whole letter referring to you as “husband.” I hope you exist because the idea of being a cat lady sounds like it would really suck.

I will find out one day if you are an athlete, nerd, video gamer, or meat head (please no). But until you reveal yourself, in a super cool proposal which will include puppies or a hot air balloon, here are some things you need to know!

We are getting a puppy.

I refer to all dogs as puppies. I really hope you’re not allergic, because you better get some meds. I love animals, especially puppies.

I want to travel.

You will know how crazy and excited I am about seeing the world. I have a goal of seeing every state in the US and all of Europe, and I hope you are there with me making insane memories.

I am a kid at heart.

In 10 years, I see us binge watching old movies, having water balloon fights, trying interesting foods, going to cooking or painting classes, hiking, and laughing as much as we can.

PLEASE LIKE SPORTS.

I love basketball, baseball, and yes NASCAR (please hate on me).

I am a strong person.

I have grown into a very strong and independent person. I take pride in accomplishing things on my own.

My girlfriends will always be important.

My girlfriends will always have a place in my heart. They have been here a lot longer than you have, and I hope you love them as much as I do.

I want a yellow house.

I know this is a little picky (and probably can be negotiated). I am going to be that “How I Met Your Mother” fan and say every time you see yellow, you are closer to true love! LOL JK, I really just like yellow houses with white frames, I think they are adorbs.

I am a hopeless romantic.

As a strong believer in love stories, I want us to be stupidly in love even when I am 89, and barely kicking. I want random flowers, to overuse "I love you", and to sing on the top of our lungs during long car rides. I want our kids and grand-kids to know that true love never fails by just looking at us.

I have been hurt before.

I have been emotionally stomped on before. I have been used, taken advantage of, and taken for granted, so if I tell you I love you, believe that I mean it.

Side note: When you propose to me PLEASE make sure I get a manicure and you better have someone video taping because I will probably nag about it for the rest of my life if you don't.

Never give up.

I think this one explains itself, I want to have the happily ever after. And no, I do not mean like the fairy tale where I am being treated like a princess. I mean I want to laugh, stay up late, fight, forgive, love, and smile with my partner (in crime) for life. Believe me, I know I am no walk in the park, but know that I will never stop fighting for us.

I can’t wait to meet you.

Maybe I know you already, and maybe I don’t, but I won’t truly meet you until you get on one knee and save up a sh*t ton (maybe use a ring pop). Just know you will be my best friend and I will be your biggest fan.

Until that day, I am extremely happy with my life right now because I am living to the fullest.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
