The Life Of Freddie Mercury

Freddie Mercury was the frontman of Queen from 1971 until his death in 1991. He was born Farrokh Bulsara on September 5, 1946 in Zanzibar, Tanzania. He attended boarding school in India where he learned piano and then went on to Ealing School of Art in London where he met his future bandmates. He formed Queen with Roger Taylor, John Deacon, and Brian May. In total Queen released 16 studio albums and toured all over the world.

Many people believe that Mercury was gay but he was actually bisexual, which he was very open about offstage although he kept his relationships private. Despite Mercury himself stating that he was in fact bisexual, many believed and even told him that he was gay. He has a long-term relationship with Mary Austin, whom he referred to as the "love of his life" and left her a majority of his estate and tasked her with secretly spreading his ashes. Along with many relationships with men.

Throughout his life, Freddie Mercury was obsessed with cats and he had many. So obsessed that he dedicated his first solo album to his cat Jerry. He also wrote a song about his large tabby Delilah. All of his many cats had full control over their house, Garden Lodge. They also got stockings full of treats and toys. Even in Mercury's last days, his cats were allowed into his bedroom and was a great source of comfort for him.

Mercury was diagnosed as HIV-positive in 1987. He did not die of AIDS but rather AIDS related bronchial pneumonia at the age of 45 on November 24, 1991. Mercury did not make a statement confirming the fact that he had AIDS until the day before he died in 1991. After Mercury's death, the band released the album "Made In Heaven" in 1995 which included songs Mercury had worked on before his death.
