Today marks the end of the college football season. After 14 weeks of football, the season will conclude with the number one team in the nation, the Clemson Tigers playing the number two team, the Alabama Crimson Tide. Clemson has been ranked the number one team all season, while beating every team that’s come its way. Their perfect season will be tested tonight at 8:30 p.m. as both teams go head to head. No matter the outcome, both teams have a lot to be proud of.
Both teams had Heisman Trophy Finalist
Clemson’s Quarterback Deshaun Watson and a Running Back for the Crimson Tide, Derrick Henry were both nominated for the most prestigious award in college football, the Heisman Trophy. On December 14, 2015 Derrick Henry came out victorious as he joined a long legacy of Heisman brothers. He’s the second Alabama football player to win the Heisman Trophy. Will his explosive skills lead the Crimson Tide to its 16th National Championship title?
Coach Dabo's Dancing Skills
Dabo Swinney the head coach of the Clemson Tigers has definitely become one of the most talked about coaches this season on and off the field. He has become an internet sensation with his post game dance moves. Some people even believe that the popular dance known as “The Dab” was named after the Clemson coach. Unfortunately, it wasn’t and is just a coincidence. If the Tigers win, will Coach Swinney bust a move tonight?
Tigers 15 for 15?
The Tigers are trying to win their 15th game of the season tonight. They would be the first FBS team to finish 15-0 if they were to win. A Clemson victory would also mean more respect for the Atlantic Coastal Conference. The tigers are the second ACC team in three years to make it to the National Championship. Many people see Clemson as the underdog in the National Championship despite their number one ranking, their undefeated record and an ACC Championship under their belt. Many also saw the Tigers as the underdog before their 37-17 win in the Capital One Orange Bowl. Will the Tigers make history tonight?
Yeah, Alabama!
In tonight’s game, the Alabama Crimson Tide is a big favorite. The Tide comes from a powerhouse football conference, the SEC. They also have 15 National Titles already under their belt along with the Heisman Trophy Winner on their team. Many also think Nick Saban, the head coach of the Alabama Football team is the “Greatest College Coach of All Time.” Stats don't lie, and Alabama's have been off the charts this season. All of their hard work comes down to tonight.
Watching college football is definitely a weekly thing in my house, and I am surely going to miss it. But I am so excited to see what next season holds. Will you tune in tonight to say farewell to the 2015-2016 college football season?
