The last few weeks of school are emotional, but nothing compares to the roller coaster the last week of school brings.
1. Sunday: Stress
It starts out gradually when the one month countdown begins, but when you awake Sunday morning for your last week at school, it really sets in. Everything you've been stressing about is due this week. All 6 papers, 3 presentations, 2 final projects and you still have to take your finals too.
2. Monday: Fear
Starting today, you have a final at 9 a.m. and a presentation at 12 p.m. Also, if you want an extra 1% on your final paper, you have to turn it in by midnight tonight. The fear of having to actually get everything done today is scary.
3. Tuesday: Tiredness
The past two days have been rough, which leads to an overall sluggish feeling. But then you remember it's only Tuesday and now you're stressing again because your hardest final is only 24 hours from now.
4. Wednesday: Helplessness
You stayed up all night last minute studying. You're only awake and functioning because of the caffeine you've unwillingly consumed. You gave up around 4 am because you figured you won't be able to learn it all by 9 am. So now you feel helpless.
5. Thursday: Relief/Sadness
Regardless of how you did, you are finished with your hardest final, which gives you and overwhelming feeling of relief. This is quickly followed by extreme sadness because you no longer have the stress and fear to cover up the fact that in 48 hours you have to say goodbye to some friends you have just spent the past 9 months with.
6. Friday: Stress
The stress just doesn't seem to dissipate. Now it's not over a test, it's focused towards packing up your dorm. How it's all going to fit in your car is a mystery. How you ended up with so much stuff is an even bigger mystery.
7. Saturday: Every emotion you could possibly feel
You're sad because your leaving, but you are also happy because finals are finally over. You still have to figure out how to fit a few more bags in your car. And people are already starting to leave to go home. But in the end, there is only one car ride home standing between you and summer break, which leaves you feeling excited.
