The Golden State Warriors have been rolling over competition the past few years in the NBA. Some say that it is coaching by former coach Mark Jackson and Steve Kerr that led them to where they are now while others say that star power is the reason, or as I like to call it, 'Steph'-power.
Stephen Curry has exploded in the NBA the past three years. Recently becoming a Two-Time MVP and the first unanimous MVP in league history among many other countless honors. In recent months people have been basing on Curry, and some more threatening than others, but it begs the question: why do people dislike Stephen Curry?
1. His Size
Most of the NBA's superstars, both historic and current, are very tall and strong players. When people look at Curry, they don't see the same type of "Superstar" they are accustomed to. Due to his small frame, he has had suffered many injuries and this causes people to think less of him as a Superstar, and more of "Just a shooter". People think that he's not worthy of the praise he receives for being an MVP in the league.
2. His Game
The NBA has now become a three point shooting culture. If your team doesn't shoot consistently from the arc, than you're going to have trouble down the stretch. However, Curry has jumped multiple levels about that. He not only has the most three pointers in history (402), but he is third in the NBA in Three Point Percentage, and averaged over five three-pointers a game (yes you read that right). Not only is Steph a three-point machine and an efficient one at that, but Curry also finished as the league's highest percentage finisher in the paint at over 55 percent. This causes many basketball analysts to see Curry as only a great offensive player and not a great overall player.
3. His Family
Everybody loves a cute family. But with Stephen Curry's family (despite his beautful wife and too-cute-to-handle daughter), many people feel differently about the Curry fam.
People do not necessarily 'hate' his family, but they dislike how they are constanly being praised in the media. From his 'insta-famous' wife Ayesha being a nationally complimented gourmet chef and restaurant owner too his hilarious daughters Riley and Ryan, I think people might be a little jealous.
Many people do not like seeing the 'perfect family' out in the media because they feel like they do not compare. Steph and his wife say time and time again, they are "not a perfect family, just a loving one."
But hey, tell that to Riley...
Stephen Curry is one of the most talked about players of our generation. He has earned a spot in the NBA by being one of the greatest shooters in NBA history, and can continues to become an even greater role modle and player every day.
You either love him, or you hate him... But you must respect him.
