Bridesmaids, lifelong friends and sisters, your ride-or-dies. These are the girls you bring you back to sanity when you’re in the middle of a melt-down, and the ones who come running to your side with a tub of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream when your having a bad day because it seems like sometimes those are the only men you can rely on in life.

To be quite honest I never gave much thought about the quote “you go to college to find your bridesmaids, not your groom.” Mostly because I knew I was going to college to get an education and not to meet a man and end up with a Mrs. degree. However, it wasn’t until I joined my sorority and started to connect with other women around my campus who shared in the same goals and beliefs as me did the quote start to make sense to me.

Whether it’s shopping for formals, all night movie marathons, binging on Chinese take-out or midnight beach trips, you know you can count on them for anything. So here are just a few of the many ways college has allowed you to find people just as weird and borderline insane as you.

1. Your selfie game was decent before you met them, but now you all have become each other’s personal photographers and the selfie game is too strong.

2. Wednesdays have officially become wine night, and boy do we need it.

3. The moment someone calls our best friendtheir best friend and you not so secretly plot their downfall.

4. I solemnly swear to always pretend to be your lesbian lover when you're getting hit on by ugly idiots.

5. But when things do go right, I promise to be your wing woman for the night.

6. You have developed a system of your own gestures and codes to signal "off limits" to each other

7. Bathroom trips are never just bathroom trips, some how dancing and silly pictures always seem to occur.

8. Your always down for running errands, because some how they always turn into adventures, and if they don't the car ride can always be a dance extravaganza.

9. Whether you need a hug, or a shoulder to cry on their always there.

10. Lowkey stalking guys from afar has become a regular hobby when you're together because your best friend's approval is always needed.

11. But best of all, is knowing at the end of the day they will always be there for you.

College is one of the biggest life-changing experiences that we go through, and with those friends who will stick by your side through the good, the bad, and the ugly: you will find that college really does bring you to your bridesmaids, the girls who you couldn't go through the rest of your life without. You form a friendship that can never be broken, because God truly handpicked them just for you.

I have been fortunate to have these girls stand beside me through my college years, and I can only hope to have them standing beside me not only on my wedding day, but for the rest of my life.

I love you all to the moon and back.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
