Girls put up with a lot. As a girl, I know this. So, I asked a bunch of college girls to share with me some stories about them being hit on. Here are the funniest stories ones:

1. Oh my God, they were roommates

"I was at a party with my boyfriend and a bunch of other people when, all of a sudden, I notice that this guy that's been staring at me in the cafeteria the week before had walked in with some friends. When I started talking to one of his friends (who I knew from class), the guy came over to us and literally took a picture of me and his friend talking. Then, since I was standing alone (my boyfriend was in the bathroom), he walks over to me to make small talk. When we realized that we were going to be dorming in the same building next year, he says, 'hey, maybe we could room together?' That was when my boyfriend came back to me. That was the end of that.

2. The walking phonebook

"It was Halloween and this guy was walking around with a white t-shirt on that had a bunch of writing on it. I asked him what it was and he said a phone book. Then he handed me a sharpie and told me to write my name and number. It was absolutely hilarious so of course I gave it to him."

-A college freshman

3. Sex-ed superstar

"A guy at a party came up to me and asked if he could plant his seed in me."

-A college freshman

4. Starving artist

"I was in a bar in the city when a male walked up to me and said he kept seeing me there every week. He then proceeded to show me pictures he took of me previous nights I was at the bar. I think he was trying to show me how dedicated he was to me. For the record he's a photographer and I am his muse I suppose. I was super creeped out at first because I like to drink a lot so I wasn't sober in the photos or knew that someone was taking them of me. I now have them framed (he showed me them in print form)."

5. Private party

"I was entering a bar after leaving a party at an off-campus apartment. I couldn't find the guy friend I was with, so, once seeing I was alone, the guy who was hosting the party I just walked back from comes up to me. Then he leans in close to me and says, 'There's a party at my place and you're the only one invited'. Thank God I saw another guy friend in the bar who I called over so he could save me."

-A college sophomore

6. Is that the best you can do?

"I was just hit on at a bar in New York City and he blantanty asked if I wanted to go back to his apartment because I looked 'old enough' and was 'pretty enough'. How gross!"

-A college freshman

7. Pronunciation is key

"I was sitting on a park bench eating my salad and a man walked up to me and said 'you are beau-tiful', and then proceeded to try and sell me a bottle of water."

-A college freshman

8. Boys and their beer

"I was at a bar and this boy had been making eye contact with me. I thought he was cute but it's a bar and it's packed so nothing is going to happen, right? A little while goes by and I hadn't seen him so I assumed he left but I was with my friends so I didn't really notice. But suddenly there's beer covering half of my face and I turn to yell at the a**hole who had put it there and it was the boy. He then offered it to me as an apology and said that he hoped it would just make a loud noise to get my attention. It worked, though!"

-A college junior

9. AirDrop is the new Tinder

"I was at the Oculus with my friends and while I'm looking at my phone for places to eat, I get a picture AirDropped to my phone. It was a picture of a guy posing by the WTC memorial. Before I could hit the decline button, the picture disappears. We look around and see two guys laughing and looking at us, to see that they AirDropped the picture again. Laughing, they said it was an accident and inched closer to start talking to us. They were from Germany and asked if we were going to be in the city the next day and to meet up. We thought it would be hilarious so we agreed to meet them in Times Square. We ended up meeting there and found that they were super chill. They ended up leaving that night but told us that if we're ever in Germany they could show us around. Long story short, we ended up getting hit on through AirDrop but made some pretty cool international friends in the end. 21st century love and friendship is pretty interesting."

-A college sophomore

10. Cat-call nightmare

"I was walking to the D-train with a friend of mine, both of us wearing a knee-length winter coat, and we pass by these two guys sitting on the street and one says, 'oooh, look at dat ass'".

-A college sophomore

11. Can't you see I'm busy?

"One time this guy came up to me in the middle of work as I had about 10 pieces of clothing in my hands and asked me to give him my phone number. It was weird because it was SO not the time, and he'd been sulking around the store for a while beforehand."

-A college freshman

12. Hair fetish

"A complete stranger on the D-train picked up a section of my hair and just ominously sniffed it until I took notice"

-A college freshman

13. F*ckboy nightmare

"It was a basketball player I was really attracted to. He was in one of my classes so I added him on Facebook and then he messaged me telling me to add him on Snapchat. When I did, he immediately snapped me saying "wyd?". When I replied he said, "u got a nice ass. U tryna f*ck?" and that was that. Didn't talk to him again."

-A college freshman

14. Awkward height difference

"Over spring weekend, I laughed at this guy's joke and he came over to me, put his arm around me, introduced himself, and told me I was going to watch T-Pain with him. I squirmed out from under his arm (mind you he was shorter than me so I felt low-key trapped) and walked away and never saw him again."

-A college freshman

15. Drunk in love

"So this guy put his arm around me and asked how drunk I was. Because I'm a sassy drunk, I then responded, 'Sober enough to punch you in the face' because his arm was around me. He kept saying how he loved a sassy girl and as we kept talking, he proceeded to then tell me he was in love with me."

-A college freshman

16. Football boys

"The football team brought their recruits this year and a group of high school seniors came up to my friend group and this one tried to convince me he was on the school's football team even though I was pretty confident he wasn't since I knew all the freshmen considering I lived with them. But he was extremely adamant about it that I had to get my friend on the team to get the kid to back off."

-A college freshman

17. Can't buy me love

"Once while I was waiting in line at a food truck, a guy came up to me and asked if I wanted to buy him something off the menu. I said no, so then he asked if he could buy me something… still said no."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
