There are rivalries in every sport in every level of competition. Nothing compares to college football. Rivalry Week is full of the most intense games of the season. Here's a list of some of the biggest rivalries in the SEC.

Alabama vs. Auburn.

Alabama and Auburn played their first football game in Birmingham, Ala. in 1893. This is considered one of the biggest rivalries in all of college football. They play each year in what is called the Iron Bowl. Alabama leads the series 44–35–1.

Vanderbilt vs. Tennessee.

Since their first meeting in 1892, Vanderbilt and Tennessee have played a total of 109 times. Tennessee leads the series 74–30–5.

Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State.

The two teams first played each other in 1901. These teams play each year in what is called the Egg Bowl due to the golden egg trophy, which has been around since 1927. Mississippi currently leads the series, 63–43–6.

Louisville vs. Kentucky.

They first played each other in football in 1912. Kentucky dominated six meetings from 1912 until 1924, in which Louisville (ACC) was scoreless in all six games and lead the teams to stop playing. In 1994, the series was revived after a 70-year break. The teams are tied in the series 14-14 but Louisville leads the modern series 14-8.

Florida vs. Florida State.

The first game between Florida and Florida State was played in 1958. Florida leads the series 34–24–2.

Georgia vs. Georgia Tech.

This rivalry is referred to as "clean, old-fashioned hate." Only separated by 70 miles, these two teams have been heated rivals since 1893. Georgia Tech plays within the Atlantic Coast Conference. Georgia leads 65–40–5.

Arkansas vs. LSU.

Also known as "the Battle for the Golden Boot" due to the Golden Boot Trophy, these rivals first played in 1901, but the rivalry became more heated in 1992 when Arkansas became part of the SEC. After 61 meetings, LSU leads 37-22-2.

Clemson vs. South Carolina.

This is the second-longest continuous rivalry in college football. Clemson holds a 67-42-4 lead in the series.
