I have never been a morning person, let alone energetic, but it isn’t my fault. It's my diet.
Many forget that the mind works in conjunction with the body. People get so caught up in the daily grind of reality - with all of its responsibilities and troubles that are bestowed upon us. When this happens, we plummet straight into our ego, where we stay to fixate and conscientiously ruminate over every single interpersonal matter. Everyone wants to be accepted, and everyone wishes to appear ‘cool’. Grace is not an unobtainable gift, though. Grace is an enjoyment of life, a personal willingness to embrace positivity, and an exuberance that shines bright.
How can one change? It’s Simple! Change what you are made of!
A substantial amount of anxiety takes control and we begin to neglect our body. Instead of providing nutrients, we decide to get fast food and consume mostly empty calories. We begin to eat for pure indulgence, as opposed to supplementing and replenishing ourselves. Americans consume at an alarming rate, and it’s a trend that has only risen and isn’t slowing anytime soon. Sugar, caffeine and sodium largely comprise our diet, so it should be not alarming that these effect our brain and the way we think.
It’s odd how half of the world consumes far too many calories and the other half consumes far too little. Half of the world is starving and the other half is trying to lose weight.
Our attitude, thoughts, and outlook on life are all affected by our diet.
The brain is an organ just as susceptible to our diet as any other part of us. It can even be said that the brain is most subject to one’s nutrition, as our mind makes the subsequent choices of what to eat, whether to exercise, and how healthy of a diet we ultimately choose. If one wants to change their diet and life, the mind needs to be on the same track to make the decisions. And in order to make the proper, clear, healthy decisions, the mind needs to be fully in control. Once the mind is on track, the body will follow.
Improve your diet – Improve yourself!
The decisions you make in life are largely based on your mental state. In other words, if your mind is tired or malnourished, then your decisions will follow that pattern. This is why we should treat our brain and our body as good as possible. If we were as nice to ourselves as we are our pets then things would be a whole lot simpler.
Our body needs vitamins! And most of what our mind needs is and has been available in herbs on this planet for centuries. It is only now that humanity is beginning to move away from natural herbs and minerals and more towards pharmaceuticals.
Natural alternatives:
Ginkgo Biloba – this herb has been used by the Chinese for ~thousands of years. It is proven to have a positive effect on blood flow to the brain. This improves memory and cognitive speed.
St. Johns Wort – this herb has been used since the age of Ancient Greece and has been proven to naturally benefit and support mood.
Green Tea Extract – this natural alternative is loaded with nutrients that improve health. It includes antioxidants, as well as L-theanine, which all together help brain function.
Fatty acids – omega 3, 6 and 9 are all natural, unsaturated healthy fats that are proven to help in brain function and the fight against cardiovascular disease, attention disorders, and even depression.
Hemp seed oil – this natural dietary supplement is rich in protein, omega 6, omega 9, insoluble fiber, iron, zinc, potassium, etc., etc. There is a huge list of benefits this alternative offers.
There are countless more vitamins that one can invest in, but the bottom line is that they are viable and beneficial to one’s health. Humans have been taking herbs for years, and it is only now that our diets are changing for the worse. Move away from fast food, sugars and caffeine, and begin to move towards more natural, healthy alternatives. Everything we consume changes our body and mind’s chemistry. Everything we put in us is detrimental to our mood, cognition, and overall well-being.
You can only change your mind is you treat it well. And when the mind is on track, the body will follow.
Head into a vitamin store and ask about their natural nootropics and other vitamins.
