White knuckles used to appear constantly. Relentlessly clutching onto your old life had become such a part of you that you lost sight of the present life you were in.
You had become crippled by fear. This fear, of the changes in your life that you had no control over, turned you cold.
You were no longer living. You were existing.
Change is the only constant in life. It is inevitable.
But when you have no say over the changes, it becomes unbearable.
They say time heals all wounds, but how long would it take? How long would it take for the numbness to disappear? How long would it take to adjust to the new normal? How long would it take for you to accept change and embrace it head on? And would you ever?
It was only when you realized that there are different chapters in your book of life that you were able to start living again.
There is only one book, but thank God there are many chapters. This change and this time in your life was just the turning of a page.
Your fists and white knuckles slowly began to dissolve into open hands as you flipped through the previous chapters reminding yourself of how things once were.
Your hands remained open as you gave back the pen to the Writer of your life story.
You gave it all to Him. And He gave you all His love.
He showed you how to equip your hands to receive grace and offer forgiveness. He opened your hands for the next wave of change to come while holding them simultaneously.
You’ve learned that you cannot control what happens in life
But you can control how you react: by giving it all to Him.
Change may be inevitable, but God’s grace is immeasurable.
