In Case You Missed It: Super Bowl XLIX

Idina Menzel kicked off the Super Bowl, singing the national anthem.  She was extra excited because not only did she deliver a flawless performance, but her name was also actually announced correctly.

Meanwhile, John Travolta was still looking for Adele Dazeem.

John Legend performed "America the Beautiful." Ta-da!

First half highlights
This Seahawk guy ran into the Patriots guy punting the ball. That's a no-no and he got a penalty.

The Seahawks' Jeremy Lane intercepted Brady's pass.

Brady was grumpy.

But then Jeremy Lane's arm looked like this... we did not see him again.

Marshawn Lynch did his thang and tied the game for the Seahawks.

Gronk said, "Not on my watch," and put the Patriots back in the lead.

Matthews made a great catch to tie the game back up with just two seconds left in the first half.

BUT THEN THERE WAS HALFTIME.

Katy Perry came roar-ing in dressed as a Cheetoh bag on some sort of Transformer version of a lion.

Then she did the disco with some shark friends.

Missy Elliot came out of nowhere to steal the show for a hot sec.

Their sassiness was on another level.

Katy ended her performance by ascending into heaven like the true angel she is.

Second half highlights
Seahawks make another interception and regain possession. Doug Baldwin rolls into another touchdown.

Then touchdowns from Amendola and Edelman give the Patriots the lead, and Brady is happy again.

The Seahawks' Kearse decides to show off his juggling skills before holding onto this catch and it looks like the Seahawks can make a comeback.

But Rookie Malcolm Butler came out of nowhere to make the deciding play of the game, intercepting the Seahawks' ball right at the end zone.

Tom Brady literally jumped for joy.

Richard Sherman was all like, "But why?!"

The Seahawks' Bruce Irvin threw his last bit of energy and frustration into a punch towards the Patriots' Michael Patrick Hoomanawanui (say that name five times fast) and was ejected from the game (the whole 18 seconds that were left).

The Seahawks' coach, Pete Carroll, hung his head in shame.

The Patriots are the champions and Brady wins his fourth ring.

Tom Brady also wins his third MVP title, and our hearts. You are one lucky woman, Giselle.

Let the countdown to next season begin.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
