Can't Miss Country!

Every year, it seems like more and more big name country artists hop on their tour busses and cruise on into our beloved Tallahassee for a good time. This year is no exception. So throw on your boots, grab that cowboy hat and get ready to jam out!

Regardless of whether or not you were born "country" and live, eat, breathe the sound of the South, these concerts are sure to be your kind of night. Even if you're not the biggest fan of country, pickup trucks and dixie cups will be out in full swing. And don't forget the cornhole set.

Part of the allure of a country concert is making it an all-day affair by getting a group of friends together and starting early, letting the good times roll until the big show starts. Tallahassee's country music calendar is sure to not disappoint you this year - so take a look!

A long time, and somewhat under-appreciated member of the country music scene, David Nail will be rocking out at the Moon on September 26th. This is sure to be a great show, and he will be performing his hit singles "Whatever She's Got" and "Red Light" along with many more. This concert is free for FSU students with a valid FSUID, and $15 for the general public. Tickets can be bought at http://tallahassee.moonevents.com/events/david-nail

  • October 3rd: Luke Bryan

A Tallahassee tradition and college kid favorite. Luke Bryan will be rolling into town in early October for his annual "Farm Tour". It seems as though Luke Bryan never really stops touring, and I don't think anyone is upset about it. This is sure to be an amazing time. Luke always brings along an up-and-coming artist to open up the show for him, so be on the lookout for their name in lights in the near future! Ticketing info can be found at http://www.lukebryan.com/

  • October 17th: Chase Rice

Sure to be a big weekend for Tallahassee, with the Noles preparing to take down the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Chase Rice comes into town in time to see just how Tallahassee does gameday weekends. A part of the Friday Night Block Party 2014 concert lineup, this concert is free - yes, you read that right: FREE! The show will take place at Kleman Plaza downtown. Be sure to arrive early, as these concerts fill up fast!

  • October 24th: Jake Owen

Florida State's very own alumnus country music star arrives into town in late October for what's sure to be a great show, and he's bringing Parmalee along with him. Following the success of his recent album "Days of Gold" he's hit the road to show the country a good time, and put on an incredible show. Maybe he will even show up at Pots again for a post concert show this year? Ticketing info can be found at http://www.tlccc.org/events_html/JAKE_OWEN_2014.html

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
