Growing up, my parents taught me how to be strong. When I say "strong" I mean both mentally and physically. They knew that when I grew up, and I was on my own, I needed to be able to handle the world that was thrown at me.

They taught me to live without excuses. This meant that I would always have to find a solution to a problem without giving an excuse. Excuses can make you weak, they allow you to feel as if it's okay to leave something if you don't get it the first time. That's not okay. You should always strive to do your best.

With the women's equality movement growing to help define just what women are capable of, we deserve to show the world just that, who we are. There are stereotypes such as "women aren't as qualified to do this...or that" or "this is a man's job."

No, anything a man can do a woman can do. Women are just as capable to do anything asked of them, it's up to them individually to rise to the task. That's why we should grow strong women, so we won't be put into check. So people can't say we aren't qualified for this, or that.

We should build our girls to accept no short paths, no cheats, nor easy way out. We should mold them to want the best for themselves, not just accept what they think they deserve. We, all of man kind, deserve the world. We are all capable of doing whatever it is that we want. You are capable of being a doctor, lawyer, a dancer, a singer whatever you want to be, you go do it!

Again, it's important to grow our girls strong, we want them to be able to stand up for themselves, hold down the fort, support who they are and not care what anyone says about it! Strive to show your daughters, friends, sisters, cousins, mothers, aunts to be the best that they can be, because they can. Praise them when they are moving in the right direction, and guide them when they need guidance.

Everyone is different, so don't feel as if you have to be this, or this, be who you are. Love yourself for you. Love everyone for who they are, because if we don't, who will support us? Who will support you? Yourself? You don't want to be alone in the world, so don't!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
