Dear Zachy,
You probably didn't expect me to write something like this because you'd probably call me corny and make fun of me. I have to because you're my big brother and the one who has always protected me and will continue to protect me. What kind of little sister would I be if I didn't thank you for that?
To start, I'm sorry that when we were little, I'd sit on your back and pull your hair like you were my horse. Your hair was there, and I couldn't reach high enough to pull Mom's. However, you're the one who climbed into my crib, so you were sort of asking for it.
Thank you for helping me steal the remote out of Grandma's hand when she was taking her afternoon nap. If we were lucky, we got about half an hour of TV time before she noticed and then switched it back to Bonanza. Even though sometimes you'd see that I enjoyed the show you were watching, you would change the channel. Then I'd have to sit there and act uninterested; you're not slick, and I know your games.
Anyway, I have forgiven you for all that. Even all the times where you tried a new wrestling move on me, there are so many pedigrees. "I bruise like a summer peach."
Thank you for being the best coach and teaching me how to play football when I wanted to play in the Powder Puff game at my school, even though I cried when you threw the football and it broke my nail off.
You're the best for always protecting me when it came to boys. You would walk out of the house and wave to them, and I'd get really embarrassed; I know you just wanted to let them know who they'd be dealing with.
Thank you for taking care of Mom and I and telling me that it was going to be okay when Dad left, and we had to move. I knew you weren't happy at all, but you were being strong for me; you are always strong, and I appreciate you for that.
Lastly, thank you for being a hero. You are always the brave one, and I'm still afraid of my own shadow. You however, take care of, help and rescue people every day. I could never walk into a burning house, and I can only pray (which I do everyday) that you will come out safely. You risk your own life to save others, and I admire you for that.
I love you buddy, and I am so lucky to say that you're my big brother.
Love, Paigee
