Who doesn't love an Olympic Summer?

An Olympic Summer
Daily Mail

I absolutely love the Olympics. I look forward to it every single time they're about to happen. If I could I would stay home the whole time they were on and just binge watch them all day, I would. It's a great time to see awesome athletes from your country give it their all and bring home gold! Silver and bronze is okay too. Whether it's the summer or Winter Olympics you always know it's going to be so good. Everyone always looks forward to the opening ceremonies to see what cool things the host country will do to try and out-do everyone else before them. But they're usually always good.

This years Olympics has been so good! Although I can't sit by the TV all day everyday until they're over, it's still exciting to come home at night and flip on the TV to watch your country kick butt! Swimming has been amazing this year! USA has had some stunning athletes all around, but to me, swimming has been the craziest. Katie Ledecky has absolutely crushed everyone and to think she's only 19! Makes you feel like "what have I done with my life recently". Michael Phelps has been racking up the gold again, which is really no surprise, and he has his gorgeous family cheering him on while he does it. He continues to make history every time he gets in that pool and that just makes watching him even more exciting! Not only those two, but the Simone Manuel, the first African American to win a gold in swimming absolutely killed it as well and gave it her all! What is also crazy is how amazing Simone Biles has been. This Olympics just seems to be a summer of records, which is so fun to watch no matter what country they are from. Just makes it that much better that they're from Team USA.

Team USA athletes have been amazing so far, and it really makes you proud to be from this country. I love watching the athletes' faces when they get up on that podium in front of everyone and starting shedding tears because they are so blessed and grateful for being from this country and having the opportunities that they have. It may or may not make you rethink your life sometimes and say "man I wish I was 19 and in the Olympics winning gold medals", but that's okay! I hate we have to wait so long in between Olympics, but it just makes it that much more special I guess. Everyone tune in to watch Team USA finish out the rest of the Olympics doing what they do best, winning GOLD.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
