It's officially that time of year again where college basketball reaches its hype. While some may be welcoming spring into the air, a true die-hard college basketball fan welcomes the sweet scent of madness. Of course, not everyone is truly enthusiastic about March Madness, but there are some really good reasons this month is the best month of all for college basketball.
1. Looking forward to Selection Sunday
The sweet taste of rivalry finally arrives on this day. Every college basketball fan -- regardless whether their college made it to the tourney or not -- looks forward to this day. This is the day where the bracketology reaches the pinnacle of the talks. Supposedly this year, the bracket was released an hour before its scheduled time on Twitter. Looks like the social media director in charge of the ESPN NCAA Tournament was a bit too hyped too.
2. Every day is game day.
Regardless if you watch basketball or not, I'm just gonna remind you that no matter where you go, a college basketball game will be on and there is no stopping or changing the channel, because everyone would just want to watch it.
3. Brackets, Brackets, Brackets!
It's a favorite notion that everyone makes a bracket for this kind of thing. One of the perks is that if you do get a perfect bracket, in this case picking the winner of each game, then you get money and prizes. Sometimes, billionaires like Warren Buffet give out large payout to those who do. Who knows if Donald Trump would give out a small loan of a million dollars as a prize to the winner? It could happen, but you may never know. So in that case, may the odds be ever in your favor.
4. Countless hours of strategy went into creating your brackets.
There is a good reason why I said brackets here and not bracket. No, you can't have one single bracket. Try picking different winners or different combinations. You never know what team will pull that upset.
5. The Hype
I cannot explain how much hype the games can create. There may be a team that's winning, a team that's losing but wins at the end, or the team that pulls an upset. The list goes on and on and on. Just expect a lot of jumping, grabbing each other, and shouting. Oh, and a piece of advice: to anyone that lives on the lower floors and there is a lot of jumping and screaming going on, there's probably something that happened during March Madness for sure.
6. The Cinderella Story
There is always that one team in the tourney that manages to upset the giants and I can guarantee you that there will be one this year for sure. Yelling and screaming at them is not fun, especially if they ruined your bracket within the first round.
7. Sea of Reactions
Let's put this in nice and simple. March Madness brings out the real you.
