College life is a huge transition coming back from vacation, but there are things that you can do to make it a little easier. Here is a list of habits that you can start doing to stay active, positive, and efficient!
1. Exercise before or after class.
Try to go the gym or go for a walk outside for at least thirty minutes in morning or after class! You'll feel confident and motivated for the day.
2. Wake up at the same time everyday.
Waking up at a consistent time each day will help your sleep schedule stabilize and you will have more energy throughout the whole day!
3. Only spend thirty minutes to an hour in the cafeteria.
You can easily spend two hours socializing in the cafeteria, but you are wasting precious study time. If you want to get that chapter out of the way or go to bed earlier this is a great way to do that.
4. When studying put your phone on silent and hide it.
Your phone can be a huge distraction when you are trying to do homework. When you put away your phone it takes significantly less time to do work which means you will have more time to do the things that you like.
5. Try to start your assignment the day it is given and pace yourself.
This tactic helps you stay stress free and calm.
6. Take the stairs.
Taking the stairs is a great way to burn a few extra calories.
7. Give yourself "me" time.
Spend about thirty minutes to an hour each day for yourself by watching Netflix, reading a book, or meditating. These things will help relax your body and will improve your mood.
All of these habits are great to start in the beginning of a new year because the earlier you start the better off you'll be later in the year. There is no doubt that there will be stress in school, but the more you can do to reduce it the healthier you'll be.
