7 Confessions From An Over-Thinker
Voolas

Below are 6 confessions from an over-thinker.

1. We make great writers.

A+ for creativity here. Our minds seem to know no limits. Writing, in fact, is a great source of relief and expression, allowing our over-thought juices to ease out of our own daily lives and put to use elsewhere.

2. Yes, we are well aware that we are over-thinkers.

You would think that by knowing we're over thinking everything it would be easier to stop, right? Yes, you would think. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Being an over-thinker is, regrettably, an endless cycle.

3. We're not insecure, we're just uncertain.

Anything could go wrong, especially We are people who like to prepare ourselves for the future. To brace ourselves for heartbreak, failure, or disappointment so the blow is less painful were it to actually happen.

4. It's not a disease, like anxiety or paranoia. It's a mindset.

Sometimes even ingrained in our personalities. There's nothing wrong with it- until it begins to really take over your life and affect your relationships, that is.

5. We're not crazy.

We know in our heads the irrationality our minds are capable of producing- and we don't necessarily always believe the things our minds jump to. It's like a natural reflex, almost instinctive, to assume majority of the time the worst.

There are reasons why we are who we are today. I could get into the whole nature vs. nurture thing, but really the environment your bred in shapes your view of the world and how you process things, all of which create who you are as a person.

Who you want to be is who you are. Your mind is you.

6. We need patience, love, and understanding.

We're not high-maintenance people. We're not needy. What we do need is validation, not constant, but sufficient enough to secure our wandering minds. To bring them back to reality, the present moment.

Worrying doesn't take away tomorrow's troubles, it takes away today's peace.

So for all my fellow worriers and over-thinkers out there, take a breath. Having our minds be understood is half the battle.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
