I just turned 20 and here are 20 important things that I have learned throughout my life:

1. Your Life Isn’t Going To Turn Out How You Planned…Have A Plan Anyway

Life will not turn out how you want it to and that is OK. Accept it and make a plan anyway.

2. Be A Good Friend

People may not be a friend to you, but you should be a good friend to others

3. You Will Fail

You will stumble, you will fall, you will get pushed down and its OK; Cry, scream, feel your pain, then get up and move on.

4. Enjoy Life

Don’t take life too seriously and live everyday as a blessing.

5. Call Your People

Tell the people you love how much they mean to you. If you miss someone, call them. If you want to see someone, call them. If someone is on your mind, call them. Never be afraid to tell others how much they mean to you.

6. Listen Well

Don’t just listen for your turn to speak, listen to show others you care.

7. Take Calculated Risks

Don’t be irrational and take crazy chances, but do things you don’t normally do. Get out of your comfort zone.

8. People Will Leave You

Not everyone is meant to stay in your life forever. Love them while you have them, fight for them, and then if it is time let them go.

9. Share Your Soul With Others

Let others in, let them see your soul. Sharing your soul is personal and it creates some of the strongest relationships.

10. Go Out And See The World

Leave your small town or your big city and go out and see the world. The world is vast and amazing. If you only see one part then you are missing out on so much.

11. Show Respect

Be respectful to other people, they will respect you in return.

12. Stand Your Ground

Hold firm in your beliefs. People will try to change them and if you don’t stand your ground people can change you.

13. Work Towards What Your Want

Don’t just want things in life, go after them. You need to put in a plan and give the effort to get what you want.

14. Forgive

Don’t hold others mistakes against them, let go of the anger. Don’t let it happen again but don’t hold onto the hurt.

15. Love

Everything you do, do it with love. Love makes you stronger, and you need it to make it through this world.

16. Speak Your Mind

Don’t be silent, people don’t know what you are thinking and the only way they will is if you tell them.

17. Do What You Want

Life goes by quickly and if you spend your time doing things you don’t want to then you wont truly be happy.

18. Don’t Put Weight In What Others Think Of You

You are amazing and the people who truly know you know that. Don’t put meaning behind what small people say about you; they don’t know who you really are.

19. Read When You Can

Read to learn, read to escape, read to dream. Take the time to appreciate the written word, it can tell you spectacular things about life.

20. Pray Always

Prayer is something you can do at anytime and that you should do. Pray to be thankful, pray when you're upset, pray when you need a friend.

Growing up can be hard, but it gets a little easier when we remember what is important to us, and focus on those things when we go through life.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
