Being an over-thinker has many challenges. Over-thinkers are sensitive prisoners to their thoughts. They tend to feel alone because everything gets to them, but you are not alone. Here are 15 things we, as over-thinkers, all know to be true:

1. We second-guess ourselves

We second-guess ourselves because we want to know if we are really doing the right thing.

2. We always want to know things to the finest detail

Having all of the answers comforts us and allows to understand the bigger idea.

3. We need reasons to know why

Over-thinkers don't believe that there should be questions left unanswered and we re-answer them again and again.

4. We are observant

Because of the all thoughts racing into our heads, we are most likely to become more aware of what's happening around us.

5. We find meanings in everything

We believe there are purposes to each existence.

6. We want to know if the person is serious or not

We always want to know if the person says what he or she means because we are unsure whether the person is genuine, sarcastic, or lying.

7. We constantly think about how we can perform better

We hate failure and leave no stone unturned.

8. We obsess over people's perceptions of us

We are self-aware and want to know if people thought we acted strange, crazy, or rude.

9. We tend to play scenarios in our heads over and over

It's never easy to forget what happened before and what we believe will happen in the future.

10. We are self-critical

We believe self-criticism is a way to push ourselves to succeed.

11. We analyze everything from beginning to end

This is an over-thinker's habit of questioning his or her worth.

12. We are proactive

Since we are aware of what's happening around us, we prepare ourselves for what we believe is going to happen next.

13. We live by to-do-lists

Lists help us stay organized and reassure us through schedules.

14. We have a hard time focusing on the present

We ask ourselves why we did this in the past and how we can improve on certain things in the future.

15. Yoga is not our sport of choice

It is difficult for us to achieve to our Zen when our brains don't shut up.

It is absolutely okay to feel that way because we all do. It's not the end of the world! Take one day at a time, take a deep breath, and realize that you got this.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine.
