13 Reasons Why I Love Being From Wisconsin
Football Stadium Digest

Wisconsin has a lot of things to be proud of, but here are my top 13 reasons why I love calling this beautiful state home:

1. Wisconsinites are some of the best football fans in the country.

There is nothing like being at Camp Randall stadium for a Badger game, and the song Jump Around is a reminder of that. Wisconsin fans are notorious for being some of the most annoying and loud fans in the country, and we are proud of it. Not to mention, Wisconsin is the proud home of the Green Bay Packers. Any loyal Wisconsin native will defend the Packers until the end—and for good reason. Who wouldn’t love the Packers?!

2. We have all four seasons.

Every season is gorgeous, and every season has different fun seasonal activities to offer.

3. Fall is absolutely amazing.

The season Wisconsin does best is definitely the fall. The leaves change to beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows, the temperature is perfect for jeans and a sweatshirt, hunting season, and there are so many things to do in the fall such as pumpkin carving, football games, apple orchards, and bonfires.

4. We do beer better than anywhere else.

Milwaukee isn’t called the beer capital of the world for nothing. We hold claim to many beers such as Miller, Budweiser, and New Glarus, and that's why we say if you don't like beer, you probably aren't a true Wisconsinite.

5. Wisconsinites go hard with tailgating and pre-gaming.

In Wisconsin, we do Game Day right. A football Game Day is not simply just during the game, it takes up your morning before, your night after, and maybe even your night before.

6. It's calm and homey.

When you cross the border out of Wisconsin into Illinois, you can just *feel* that you're not in Wisconsin anymore. Wisconsin has that small-town vibe where you can feel friendly with people just because you’re from the same town.

7. We have our share of "city life."

Milwaukee and Madison are definitely different, but they both offer a lot of the cool aspects that come along with cities. In Milwaukee you have the Historic Third Ward and the Lakefront, and in Madison you have more of a college-town feel, and they both hold a lot of things to offer when it comes to things such as food, art, and culture.

8. Wisconsin is beautiful.

Wisconsin may not be known for its gorgeous nature reserves or our diverse scenery, but we certainly have it. Lakes such as Lake Michigan and Lake Geneva call Wisconsin home, and they are truly breathtaking. Wisconsin has many diverse beaches, trails, state parks, one of which is Devil’s Lake, which is always worth the trip.

9. Our State Fair is the best.

You have not lived if you have not partaken in our glorious array of fried food, live music, rides, and above all, cream puffs.

10. Summerfest is the place to be.

There are so many good times to be had at the World’s Largest Music Festival, which artists and fans alike come from all over the country to be at.

11. The University of Wisconsin has got it goin' on.

Madison, Wisconsin is home to one of the top schools in the nation, both athletically and academically. If you are from Wisconsin, then you definitely boast Badger pride.

12. Up North: the perfect weekend getaway.

A cabin in rural northern Wisconsin is the ultimate place to go to escape urban life and go hunting, fishing, boating, mudding, and water sports, amongst other fun activities.

13. Wisconsin Pride.

Most people from Wisconsin love being from Wisconsin, and that’s what I love about it. We Wisconsinites share an unspoken bond because we take pride in our state.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
