Growing up in New England, some things have always been consistent. Terrible winters, beautiful autumns, delicious clam chowder and sports. The Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics are always right in the mix for a championship in their respective sports. However, nothing has been more consistent than the New England Patriots. Division titles in 14 out of the last 16 years. Six AFC titles and four Super Bowls. Two things have been consistent with their assertive dominance over the NFL—head coach Bill Bellichick and quarterback Tom Brady.
Tom Brady has seen a lot of controversy lately—he allegedly deflated footballs. Yeah, that's it. Footballs that had no effect on the outcome of a 45-7 trouncing of the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC title on the way to their fourth Super Bowl. I and the rest of New England love him now even more than before. Here's why.
1. He is a true underdog story.
Unlike the other superstars of the NFL, Brady was not picked until the sixth-round, and he even started his career as a back up.
2. He and his wife are basically Jay Z and Beyoncé.
Tommy Boy and Hova are leaders in their industries, and their wives are worth more than they are.
3. He is the king of Facebook.
Anyone who likes his page knows he posts the most hysterical memes (even if he probably doesn’t make them.)
4. The Super Bowl MVP gave his truck away.
After his third Super Bowl win, Tom Brady gave the truck that was awarded to him for being the MVP to rookie Malcolm Butler. He did this after the un-drafted Butler made the game-saving interception at the goal line with less than a minute left in the game.
5. He has played his entire career with one team.
Unlike his rival, Peyton Manning, Brady has played his entire career with the New England Patriots.
6. He’s a family man.
Brady constantly talks about how much he loves his wife and kids, which makes him more of a role model and a lovable guy in general.
7. He is dashingly handsome.
This one is undeniable; ask anyone in New England (even happily married men.)
8. He is a true competitor.
Even after four Super Bowl wins, that undersized sixth-round draft pick out of Michigan acts like he has something to prove every time he steps on the field.
9. He is a four-time Super Bowl champion.
10. ...And a three-time Super Bowl MVP.
11. He is the G.O.A.T.

P.S. We forgive you for that time you grew your hair out (which looked terrible.)
