"Life is pretty easy for me. I wake up every morning with my entire day planned out, and it typically goes a little something like this - I slip on my Gucci heels, grab my Coach purse, drive off in my Lamborghini to a job I love, where I get paid $100k a year. When I get home, my NFL player of a husband will have my favorite meal and a glass of chardonnay waiting for me..."
- Said no one ever.
1. Step one: have a day (preferably tomorrow). Welcome tomorrow with open eyes and arms, and maybe even legs, too, if you’re feeling sexy and you know it and you ain’t afraid to show it.
2. Realize that every step you take is a step in the right direction, even if it’s a step backwards or to the side. Life is a learning experience. Cha cha now, ya’ll.
3. Challenge yourself to love yourself with the same amount of love that you have for your favorite band/artist/actor. Then love yourself even more than that. Once you realize how great you are, you will feel invincible and it will be amazing. Keep trying to find little things that you love about yourself. There’s a lot, trust me. There’s one! There’s another one! It’s like an egg hunt bright and early on Easter morning. Wake up every day and go get those eggs.
4. Do what makes you feel more like you, and don’t be afraid to try new things. Try to switch it up and always remember that you will never owe anyone a reason to why you’re doing what you’re doing. Never shrink yourself in order to comfort those who refuse to grow. If you ever have nothing to do, I’d recommend you do your thing.
5. Let yourself be inspired by the tinniest flower and the fluffiest cloud. There is so much beauty in the world, so look around, maybe even start with a mirror. Realize that you have a really pretty smile. I know wearing a smile isn’t always easy to manage, but it would be a pretty big bummer if we never got to see it again. Inspiration and happiness are not always synonymous, but sometimes you can find what you’re looking for when you are the most broken.
6. Things to stay: beautiful, strong, and yourself. Think about it: You literally complete this universe. If you weren’t here, the universe wouldn’t be complete. You matter so much. Reach your full potential and then some. You are not your anxiety, your are not your depression, you are not you eating disorder, or any battle you are facing. You are you, and you’re the only one who can be that. Make it a point to evolve like a Pokémon every day. Like, who’s that Pokémon? Oh, it’s you.
7) Be nice. Accountants have finally discovered that being nice costs exactly $0. Being mean also costs $0, but it'd be so much better to be nice. If you’re nice to everyone, everyone will be nice to you. Just kidding, that won’t happen. But hey! At least you’re nice to everyone (HELLO good karma). Be the type of person you want to meet. Don’t let this world turn you into a cold person. Play nice and stay warm and soft like a little kitten. No one is going to remember your bad hair days or the miscellaneous mistakes you make along the way – they are going to remember the feelings you gave them. Exercise kindness and love, not only towards others, but also yourself. Also, actually exercise, like your buns and stuff, those give you endorphins and endorphins make you happy.
8) Create a life for yourself from which you will never need a vacation – somewhere that makes you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside and out. Those are nice places to hang out. If you aren’t proud of yourself or your life choices, make those necessary changes sooner rather than later (sooner like, now). Don’t let anyone or anything make you feel as though you’re helpless. Plot twist: confidence is not the key; it’s the skeleton key, guys. It will unlock every door.
9) Romanticizing optimism, making someone’s day, and not taking anything or anyone for granted. Romanticize the here and the now. Positivity spreads faster than Nutella on whatever you like to spread your Nutella on.
10) Lastly, no matter what happens tomorrow, you made it to today, and that is honestly the biggest accomplishment. Let this serve as a shoutout to everyone who thought they might not make it through today. You should feel more than proud that you just did. Life is hard, so take a bow or 62.
