Ten reasons doesn't cover every reason I am thankful to have you. Although you deserve so many more reasons, you and I both know that I could come up with a thousand. A year with you has been filled with so much fun, adventure, and happiness. You have seen me at my best and my worst. This is why I love you and why I am so proud to call you the love of my life. I hope that you will keep being my partner in crime and the peanut butter to my jelly.
1. For making me laugh
Countless times I have gotten frustrated or mad for no reason and you always are able to cheer me up and give me a good belly workout. Whether it's something you say or do, I know one of your favorite thing is to make me laugh my a** off. For that, I am thankful.
2. For making me happy
So many times my depression gets to me or I just feel down about something. No matter what mood you're in, you make sure that I am okay. Not many people have worked as hard as you do to put a smile on my face or be there for me to talk to. I feel completely comfortable around you and know that I always have someone to count on. No matter how the day went, at the end, I can have a big smile on my face just thinking of you. You make me so happy and I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else.
3. For accepting my quirks
Now, you and I both know that I do some things that bother you and that you do things that bother me. We've been together long enough that we've figured out each others flaws and quirks. I'm happy to say that we are more than willing to accept every single aspect of each other whether good or bad. We leave the quirks aside and focus on the good in each other.
4. For staying by my side
Over the past year, I have had feelings of betrayal and abandonment. I have trust issues like so many other people do. But with you, it's different. You have stayed by my side through everything both good and bad. When I had surgery, you stayed overnight in the hospital with me. I know that I can trust you no matter what because you are always on my side and have never left it.
5. For lifting me up when I'm down
We both know how taxing it is to have depression and anxiety. I live with it everyday and am unable to escape. It's at times muffled and other times like a storm. When I have been at my lowest points you have picked me back up again and helped me realize that I was strong enough to get through it. I know you will always pick me up when I'm down and I truly appreciate that.
6. For helping me fight
I can't even count on my fingers how many times you have told me that I wasn't alone and you were fighting with me. You remind me everyday that I have a partner in crime who will help destroy all of those bad thoughts and feelings of worthlessness. I've been fighting hard for awhile to overcome my mental illness and you have made my fight easier.
7. For giving me a reality check
Sometimes I need you to bring me back down to reality. For all of those times where I say I'll flunk school and be in debt for the rest of my life over one test, you remind me of the truth. I know I tend to exaggerate once in awhile and let the little things bother me but I know that you will help me to see and know that there will be better days and that I can make it through college.
8. For giving me hope
There were days when I thought there was no hope. I was terrified of the future and what was to come. I didn't think that I would be able to make it through college. I didn't believe in myself. I had doubts of overcoming my depression and anxiety. But you have given me a ray of hope, a ray of sunshine through the dark cloud over my head. Now that I have you, I am not afraid of the future. In fact I am excited to walk through life with you by my side.
9. For being thoughtful
I've never met anyone as sweet as you. You are so considerate and is always thinking of others. I know you never came from much but you are still so willing to give. Even if you have a rough time you still think of those in need. I know you'd give someone the coat off of your own back if it came down to it. I'm so glad that you 're willing to serve others with me. I know that you have such a kind heart.
10. For loving me
Lastly, I am thankful for you just loving me. There were countless nights that I just wanted to cry and cry. I have at times felt unwanted and unloved. You, along with so many others have taught me to love myself. You have made me feel loved, accepted, wanted and worth something. And I have learned to love you for all of these reasons. It's us against the world. For that, I am so thankful.
