1. Stay Positive, Everything Will Work Out

I have good news: you got into college! That one test doesn't matter, it’s about the big picture. If you continue to stay focused with the end goal in sight, everything will work out. You can do whatever you set your mind to. Positivity and perseverance are key.

2. Say Yes to Plans

I know, I know, you really don't want to go, but try and remind yourself that you always end up having fun. The hardest part is psyching yourself up for it. Go to the movies, the beach, your friend's house, wherever else you may get invited. You will love having fun memories with friends and will regret not getting out there more.

3. Find the Right Extracurricular

The best way to make friends is to find people with similar interests as you. Finding an extracurricular that fascinates you is an easy way to do this. Don’t just join a club because people claim that it will look good on a resume. It will have no benefit to you if you don't enjoy it and will be a waste of time. It is much more important to find something you really enjoy, and the rest will fall into place.

4. Keep in Touch With Old Friends

Even if it is just a text or a FaceTime once in a while, try and reach out to your old friends. Catch up about what is new in their life and update them about yours. Having different groups of friends from all over the country from different chapters in your life, is something special, hold onto that.

5. Your Goals are Closer Than You Think, Keep Working Hard

It might seem like you have been working at something forever, and to no avail. But, keep working, you're almost there. Whatever the case, don’t quit. Every day you get a little closer.

6. Be Confident

People are attracted to confidence. Feel good in your skin and be the best you, you can be. Feeling confident always puts you in the best mood! Find what makes you feel good about yourself and don't look back. Remember, everyone is insecure about something.

7. Study Hard

You don't want to limit your options when it’s time to pick what colleges you want to apply to. Study hard, listen in class, do your homework, and ask questions. Teachers are your friends. Try and learn outside of the classroom too; you will learn the most valuable and useful information in an atypical setting.

8. Listen to Your Mom

Ok, I hate to admit it, but she is right 99.9% of the time. She understands you better than anyone. When it comes to friends, she knows a true one from a temporary one. If she thinks that isn’t the best choice of clothes, listen. You can always count on her to always look out for you. Having a good relationship and not losing her trust are the most important thing.

9. Stay True to You

Rock those Birkenstocks and don't give into the Jack Rodgers (not that you did)!!!!! Yes, you are different than most of your school; however, that’s what makes you special. Being different is cool. Find the things that you really love and pursue them.

10. Live in the Moment

It is so easy to forget that “time too shall pass.” Before you know it, it will be the summer before college, and time seems to speed up the older you get. Remember that you could always stress tomorrow, but can’t re-live today. Each stage of your life has its own benefits. Enjoy them all and always take time to appreciate what you have.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
