10 Most Awkward Places To Run Into Your Ex

  1. While doing the walk of shame: This is awkward to do in front of stranger let alone one of your exes. If your ex-boyfriend/girlfriend casually sees you walking in your clothes from the night before after you most likely “shacked” with some new guy or girl, it could be very embarrassing.

  2. At a bar: Being intoxicated and seeing your ex are two things that never go good together. Sometimes you want to go out with your friends, have a few drinks and have a good time, but then you look to your right and you see your ex. Talk about someone raining on your parade. Usually being intoxicated leads to someone saying things they would not normally say. You are probably going to send them a strongly-worded text message by the end of the night anyways.

  3. In class: In class students usually want to find a study buddy or group to hangout with, but then your ex walks in. This is already uncomfortable because you guys feel each other's presence through the boring lecture. Now you have to decide whether it is appropriate to ask each other for help. Are there boundaries?

  4. With your rebound: It is Friday night date night, and you and your rebound are going to dinner. You order your drinks, look to your right and your ex is conveniently sitting at the table next you...awkward.

  5. At your own house: A home is supposed to be your safe zone until you walk through the door and see your ex-boyfriend sitting on the couch with your family. There is nothing comfortable about that. You guys give each other the ‘I kinda hate you, what are you doing here?’ look and just enjoy the awkward silence. Then after he/she is finally gone, your parents bombard you with questions like “Why did you guys break up” and “Do you think you will get to back together?” No one wants to answer these questions.
  6. Tinder: Tinder is funny, some people frown upon it, but most people use it. So you set your range of people you would be interested in, you swipe left and right on a few options, and then your ex's picture comes up. This probably means he has swiped left or right on you, or is going to, which is even more uncomfortable. What does one do in this situation?
  7. Public Transportation: On college campuses taking the bus is a common way to get from place to place. A bus is such a confined place, so the awkward eye contact is inevitable.

  8. The gym: People go to the gym to get fit so they can impress whoever they are interested in with their irresistible body. You go to the gym and ten minutes into running on the treadmill you are out of breath and drowning in sweat. You see your ex, who most likely does not look their best, but they are still glistening with sweat in an attractive manner. You do not want to say hello because you remember how red your face is and how unpleasant you smell.

  9. Sorority House: This one is for the girls. Seeing your ex at your own sorority house can just throw you completely off guard. It is extremely unexpected to see one of your sisters being all buddy-buddy with your ex. Not only is that a violation of girl code, but it is extra uncomfortable.
  10. At a store buying flowers: Seeing your ex-boyfriend buy flowers is a weird reminder that he never bought them for you. Just remember, this is one of the many reasons why he is now your ex.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
