10 Life Lessons from (Wo)Man's Best Friend
  1. If you're happy and you know it wag your tail.
    …if not, then don’t.
Dogs make it pretty clear when they’re in a good mood. Thus, it’s quite difficult for us to confuse whether they want us play with them, or to leave them alone.By outwardly stating your feelings and/or intentions, you can avoid potential misunderstandings.

  2. I want it, therefor I shall go get it.
When in pursuit of a thrown ball/toy/stick, it is rare for dogs to stop until they retrieve it. They just won’t give up. Whether they have to run across the park, or across the pond, they will get it.With just the right amount of perseverance and determination, you can achieve anything.

  3. ...I can't get it, help me.
When stuck pawful situations, dogs usually ask you for help in their own way, or blatantly demonstrate their helplessness. Asking for help can make achieving your goal a much easier task.

  4. I'm tired, therefore I shall rest.
Whilst some dogs have extraordinary athletic capabilities, others tend to tire easily. After a long game of fetch, a walk, a run, a swim, or whatever exercise your dog enjoys, he/she may want to paws for a bit, before resuming strenuous activity.Taking short breaks in between hard work can increase productivity, and produce better results.

  5. I shall rest... right here!
On some occasions, your dog may feel fatigued whilst outside of the house, his/her favorite sleeping spot--perhaps at the park, café, hiking trail, etc. However, he/she still manages to curl up and nap.Adaptation; survival of the fittest.

  6. Hi, friends!
It appears that dogs just love everyone. No matter the person--or dog--that approaches, they are always willing to entertain. Whether your dog is letting someone pet them, or sniffing another dog, he/she is constantly willing to say, “hello.”
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

  7. Welcome home!
No matter what, you can always count on your dog greeting you at the door. Excitedly, very excitedly.
Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them.

  8. Fine, but only because I love you.
Sometimes, we place our dogs through arduous tasks, like wearing dog costumes. Putting dogs in clothes can either go one way or the other: they can end up looking ridiculously adorable, or adorably ridiculous. Either way, they comply. They just want to make their favorite people happy.

  9. I don't need the costume though .
Whilst dogs may entertain us with costumes, they do not need trendy clothes to feel good about themselves. They are completely comfortable in their own fur. Trust me, your dog is not putting the reindeer headpiece on because he/she is insecure, and wishes he/she looked more like a reindeer. They are beautiful in every single way, and words can't bring them down, oh no.

  10. Okay :)
Whilst dogs cannot talk, they make for great listeners. No matter how long you need to think out loud for, how complicated the tale may be, or how ludicrous you may sound, they are there for you.
Friendship isn't about who you've known the longest. It's about who came and NEVER left your side.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
