Here I am, eating Shin Ramyun (a.k.a. better quality Ramen) at 10:59 at night, sitting across from my roommate (who is using her chopsticks as walrus tusks), writing this piece to encourage you (yeah, you!) to mix it up.

Once in a while, I get caught in a rut. I become bored with my life, I begin seeing my world the same way, and I grow into being a more stagnant and generally less excited person. Naybe if you're like me, you have felt the same way. Maybe you feel this often. Maybe you feel it right now!

But guess what: you've just picked the right article! I'm here to equip you to shake off the tedium today! Trying something new can give you a new experience, fresh perspective on your own life or the lives of others and maybe you'll even gain a new friend. Ultimately, whether you do something new just once or for every day for the next year, your life WILL BE CHANGED!

And even if you have a wonderful outlook on life right now and the excitement in you is burgeoning from your bowels to your eyeballs, I bet this post will serve as an inspiration for adventure nonetheless.

So, without further ado, here are a bunch of ideas for changing up your norm, ranging from least to most absurd/adventurous.

1. Eat new food.

2. Love yourself.

3. Listen to music when you usually don't.

19. Use your other hand to eat.

20. Change the way you dress for a day.

21. Call/meet a friend, set a timer for one minute, and compliment them the whole time.

23. Go to a pet store and see how many puppies the worker will let you hold at one time.

24. Do a new workout routine.

25. Sign up for some class that you never thought you would (tae-kwon-do, baking, meditation, etc.)

41. Cut your friend's hair (with their permission, maybe :P).

42. Pretend that you have something on your back and just whirl around.

43. Wear two different shoes and go out in public.

44. Scream out your window how you are feeling.

45. Buy a capybara because yes, they can be legal house pets.

46. Go buy a 64 oz jar of peanut butter and just submerge your hands and feet in it. (Make sure you have a friend with you; this is too great a joy to do alone - trust me, I speak from experience.)

You are now equipped with a plethora of ideas on how to switch up your day/week/life.

Happy trails!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
