I know there are hard days. I know there are days when the stress just seems like it piles and piles and piles. It can be extremely overwhelming. The list seems to stretch for miles. Midterms, papers, projects, meetings, finals, work, eat, sleep, study, homework, practice, socialize, bills, loans. It is the never-ending story. It all piles, but I have something to tell you.
You can do it. You can conquer anything the world throws at you. You can handle the ups and downs that are all a part of the roller coaster of life. You can do it. You will figure out that problem that has been plaguing your mind for days and weeks. You will get all of that stuff done that is on your list. You will check them off one by one. That’s how we all accomplish things. One by one. You can do it. You may need to take a break and breathe. That is completely fine. Take a break. Take a few of them. Just know that you can do it. You can accomplish everything.
I know your stress is real. I know that the anxiety that is plaguing your mind is not some figment of your imagination. It sucks. It takes its toll on you. It can cause you to have a break down on the floor. You hate that you feel this way, but you can not get your hand around it. You can not grasp it. You can not control it. It has never worked like that. No matter how hard you try.
In those times, the times where it clouds your mind, take a moment and breathe. Inhale. Exhale. Take a few. Inhale. Exhale. For crying out loud, take a million, but after that million get up and try to accomplish one of the To-Dos on your list. You can do it. Inhale. Exhale. It may be hard. It may take a few tries, but you can do it. Breathe. Little by little you will accomplish everything. Really deep breaths. I know it’s hard.
There are people that will look at you when you are struggling and tell you to suck it up. They will say “just get over it.” They will think that your overreacting or being crazy. You are not, though. Someday you will find people that understand. Or at least try to. They won’t say things that make you feel worse than you already do. You will find the people that will look you directly in the eyes in the middle of your melt down and tell you the things you need to hear. They will tell you that you can do it. They will acknowledge your stress. They will tell you that you are not your stress. You are not your anxiety. You are a warrior. You can conquer it.
It is a daily struggle. You are a fighter. You have put up with these issues for your whole life. You have done a great job with it so far. You are a conqueror, so I leave you with this,
“Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.” – Christian D. Larson
