Working out is tough and sometimes it's hard to find the motivation especially if it's for something you hate, like the treadmill. Here are 12 alternatives if you absolutely want to avoid it.

1. Elliptical

It's so much easier than the treadmill and it barely feels like you're running.

2. Bike machine

Or regular biking works too. If you use the bike machine you can play on your phone at the same time and forget you're even working out and that's always cool.

3. Lunges

Grab a weight or do without one and lunge away.

4. Squats

Although squats are also exhausting, it's a little better if you absolutely hate the treadmill.

5. Burpees

Grab all motivation and energy you have for these.

6. Swimming

It's a workout that doesn't always feel like a workout.

7. Find some HIIT workouts

Instagram is a good source for workout videos.

8. Rock Climbing

Research local indoor or outdoor rock walls for a fun workout.

9. Sit-ups

Use weights for a more advanced workout with your sit-ups.

10. Push-ups

Keep a chart of your progress and push yourself to do more each rep

11. Stair climber

Great for the glutes.

12. Jump Rope

Taking it back to the elementary days, but you can actually burn major calories. Great for the glutes.

There are numerous other workouts depending on what you are working for. Try social media outlets, but don't get consumed in the photoshopped gym goers who post fake pics. Do what's healthy for you and your body.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
