Let’s be real, being a girl is rough. We have to cook, clean, take care of the children and make sure our men are happy. We don’t work much and we’re expected to need our men to care for us because we’re too dainty. And obviously our opinions aren’t worth s**t. So all we have to do once the house is clean and the children are happy is sit there and look pretty, right? So on top of all of this, here are 10 reasons why being a girl is awful.

1. We’re weak.

Nobody likes a strong girl who can hold her own in a fight, right? I mean look at Ronda Rousey, nobody respects her or admires her. It’s all about how she looks not what she accomplishes. Speaking of which it leads me to the second reason it sucks to be a girl.

2. We have to look perfect to get respect.

Nobody wants a girl who has a little extra weight to them. Marilyn Monroe wasn’t much of a bombshell because she didn’t have the perfect abs or the perfect legs or perfect arms. She was so imperfect that she could never be a beauty icon that girls aspire to be. Meghan Trainor is never going to get anywhere in her career because she doesn’t have a flat stomach and toned arms/legs and neither will Adele. And Victoria’s Secret models are too fit and it’s too intimidating and must always be photoshopped -- because no matter how perfect they look, it’s not perfect enough for millions of people to watch a fashion show that they put on every year.

3. We don’t have anything important to say.

There are no powerful women who get respect today. Michelle Obama? Nobody should listen to her because she’s a woman who has an invalid opinion. Oprah Winfrey has never had an important opinion in her life and is only kidding herself if she thinks people ever actually listened to her even though she had her own talk show for years.

4. We deserve less pay than men.

No matter what, men deserve more respect. Why? Isn’t it obvious? It’s because they’re men and being a man is like God’s gift to humanity because they’re just better. Even if you do the same job the same way in the same amount of time, they still deserve more. Why should we get paid the same? We’re only women!

5. We’re only here to look pretty.

Women have never done anything worthwhile in history. Rosa Parks, Malala, Harriet Tubman, none of them really did anything noteworthy. They just sat there because they were just women and that is what we’re here to do. Every woman that’s ever stood up for something or spoke out against something hasn’t really accomplished anything. The men should be the ones to take charge because they always get everything done and are always right.

In today’s world it is hard to be a woman -- but not for the reasons listed above. It’s hard because these are the stereotypes we have to fight to gain respect. I’m not saying that women are better than men because each gender has their strengths and weaknesses but neither is stronger than the other — they’re equal. Its 2016, isn’t it time to give equal rights to both men and women instead of trashing one gender over the other?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
