Why I Want To Be An Actor
Andrew Lee

What do I want to do when I get out of high school? I want to work in the film industry. More specifically, I want to work as an actor, director, writer or anything else I can find an opportunity to do. I love that feeling when I’m on stage or on camera. That feeling when I play another character and the connections I make while rehearsing. I have a great time spending time onstage and inspiring people.

The first time I got inspired by the film industry was from a show entitled "Boy Meets World." It made me cry, laugh, and want to make those perfect changes in my life. It made me want to help others and making a positive difference in the world. They talked about issues that happen all throughout life. Violence, substance abuse, domestic violence and other issues that need a voice. That’s part of the reason why I wanted to become an actor. Actors tell stories that could sometimes inspire people. That inspiration can lead to a great idea, a life change, an eye opener, or something else that is equally as incredible.

Another show that gave me inspiration was "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers." Not only did they have amazing skills to fend off aliens and awesome suits to wear, but they also had morals to teach for each episode. The show taught kids that you could be strong even if you weren't a Power Ranger. I mean, the Power Rangers were just average kids who were chosen to become Power Rangers. Because of this, kids thought that they could be like the Power Rangers and help with the fight as well. Power Rangers has been going on since 1993 and it's still going strong. Why do you think that is? I believe it's because the Power Rangers have never failed at appealing to the children, or even adults and teens.

Children nowadays are at a time where they get a lot of influence from the shows that they watch on TV. Those shows can sometimes make or break a kid. They need the best influences they can get. I grew up on shows like "Kim Possible", "Boy Meets World", "Suite Life of Zack & Cody," "That’s So Raven" and many more. These shows helped to teach me about morals and life, and these things helped to make me the person that I am today. I want to be that for others, not just children but all audiences. I would love to have the chance to hear from a fan of mine that I inspired them to be better.

I love to inspire change. I don’t want to be an actor to become super famous or rich. I think it’s the best way to make change in today’s society. We are all connected to film anyway, so why not do something good with that connection. I hope all of you let me inspire your lives someday.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
