Break out your brackets and sharpen your pencils! College basketball postseason is here. Regardless of who, what or where you are, march madness is here whether you like it or not.
The argument can be made that March is the most popular month of the year for sports. The race for the NBA playoffs is running fast, baseball is beginning spring training, and hockey is in full swing as well. However, the most famous sport in March may very well be college basketball.
March madness is great. Yeah, that's my opinion, but I think that 99 percent of the nation would agree with me. The NCAA basketball tournament not only brings 68 of the most deserving (notice I didn't say best) teams in college basketball into a single playoff system; it also ushers in the tale of Cinderella and whatever fairy tale run she may want to make this year.
We are only a week into the March Madness tournament and already there have been a handful of upsets. In the opening night alone, Little Rock beat Purdue and Yale (of all teams) beat the Baylor Bears.
This is what is so amazing about March Madness. No one can ever predict these upsets. No one knows when a 12 seed will beat a 5 seed. But it happens! No one can be counted out. Just as in life, never count someone, even yourself, out of a situation regardless of the enormous odds being faced.
To anyone intimidated about making a bracket, you truly don't even have to be educated about basketball to do so. My mother has made a better bracket than I have before, and she literally made her choices based on which teams jersey color she like better. Yeah, anything can happen.
Even if you aren't a basketball fan, one can still get excited about March Madness. Make a bracket and have fun following it! Now get off the computer, grab a bracket, and go watch some basketball!
