Not every day is a good one. Everyone has their moments of weakness, stress, irritation, and needs space from the outside world. On the other hand, we have our moments where we feel as though we are on top of the world, smiling from ear to ear, and thoroughly enjoy life. No, I'm not happy all day every day, but I am happy every day. Does that make sense?

The most important aspect about happiness is that you need to choose it for yourself. Sure, other people can try their best to pick you up when you're feeling down, and yes it works as a distraction; it's a temporary feeling. You have to want it for yourself. No one can make you feel a way that you can't get yourself to feel.

We have our on and off days. Nothing in life is predicted. You might wake up one day in a good mood and the next you might have the urge to stay in bed. To me, I think the most strong-willed people feel this way. If they can get out of bed on a day where they can't imagine it being a good one are the ones who deserve a pat on the back. I see myself as this type of person because of my personality. I might have a rain cloud over my head, but you can surely bet that I have a smile on my face.

Stemming off of this comes the crucial aspect of being happy; being able to laugh through life.

I laugh at just about anything that is said to me, whether you're purposely trying to be funny or not. I laugh at when someone slips, when a prank is pulled on a person; seriously, I laugh at it all. I get critiqued on my laugh all the time, because I either cackle nice and loud when something is absolutely hilarious, or I let out a simple "ha-ha." My laugh can be heard from miles, if you're lucky enough to make me laugh that hard.

Laughter is beyond contagious; it only takes the sound of one laugh to get a roar that could shake anyone to the core; it sends a signal to your brain and readies you to smile and join in. Laughter is a great form of medication because it has health benefits such as strengthening your immune system, boosts your energy, diminishes pain, and protects you from the effects of stress. Not only is it free, but it's fun! Give it a go.

Laughing overall makes you feel good, right? You can't ever deny that you hate the way you feel after laughing, or that you hate the feeling of your cheeks hurting from laughing too hard. It gives you the courage and strength to find a brighter side to life's challenges. Even in the most dark of times, a laugh or smile can go a long way.

There are a few simple steps one can take in order to reach a stage of happiness and laughter; smile often, count your blessings and feel gratitude, spend time with people who bring out the best in you, follow the sound of laughter, and be funny- make others want to laugh with you too!

As you can see, laughter can take you on an amazing journey throughout life if you choose to look at the brighter side of life. It is well worth it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
