9 Reasons Why It's Better To Be Single On Valentine's Day

Rather than trying to scope out a date for this Valentine's Day, it’s about time we embrace the beauty of being single. So, starting with number nine, here are the reasons why being single on this love holiday is so great (this goes out to all of you Valentine’s Day haters, lovers, and those of you who just don’t care):

9. You can binge watch the shows you love

If you are a true Valentine's Day hater and just want the day to be over with, just immerse yourself in a new or old series. Maybe even more than one.

8. You can have a wine night with your friends

Sometimes the best thing about being single is getting those precious moments with your friends.

7. You can love on yourself with a "me day"

Whether you have work or class, you can always enhance your day with a little me time. Go buy a new book, go get your nails done, or just do that one thing you’ve wanted to do for a while. This is a pamper day. What better way to spend the day of love than loving on yourself.

6. You can eat things that you love that are really bad for you

Splurge on that Valentine's Day candy section. This is your day to do whatever you want including loving yourself and the food you’re eating…and one of the days where the calories don’t count.

5. You can go out with your girls/boys

Nothing better than a celebration on the day of love with the people you care most about.

4. You can get ahead

If you’re not so enthralled about Valentine's Day, you can always use the day to get ahead. Do homework, study, or grab an extra shift at your job. While everyone else is out celebrating, you can be getting one step ahead and when everyone else is stressed, you’ll be totally carefree. Gotta love success.

3. You can go on a date with your best friend

Date’s aren’t just for significant others. Going on a date with your best friend is FUN. You get to do best friend things and date things in a judgment free zone.

2. You don’t have to worry about getting ready for a date

Half the battle of going on a date is getting ready, making sure you have reservations (and with Valentine’s Day you know everywhere is going to be packed), and making sure you look cute to impress your date.

1. You can embarrass yourself and just be you

It’s hard being in a relationship. The beauty of being single is that the only person you have to impress is yourself. So, if you feel most comfy in your onesie, then hell, wear your onesie. And if you don’t like to cut your spaghetti or use a spoon, then shovel it in. When you’re single you get to be selfish, and sometimes it’s nice to think of yourself first.

You have to love yourself before you can love anyone else!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
