When life gets rough, sometimes you just need a nap. Throughout my time in college so far, I've realized that there seems to be a stigma around napping. Some feel that it is a waste of time, irresponsible and just downright lazy. But the truth is, naps are what make the world go around. Have no fear, fellow nappers, because I'm here to shut down all of the haters and let you know that you are not alone. Here are the reasons why napping should be absolutely guilt-free.
1. The all-nighter
We've all been there. Whether it's the result of procrastination or a serious case of writer's block, all-nighters in college are sometimes unavoidable. After a night of hard work, it just wouldn't make sense not to reward yourself with a nap! You'll definitely need to catch up on your sleep, because no one is good company after being put through the troubles of an all-nighter.
2. The lecture hall nap
This is something that no one is proud to admit, but it is a fact: all students have fallen asleep in class at least once before. Don't feel bad! If the professor wants you to wake up for the lesson, they'll make it happen. In the meantime, your body is begging you for some shut-eye, so you might as well just give in.
3. The sleep-in Sunday
After a long week, some of us love nothing more than to sleep in for as long as possible on Sunday. Unfortunately, sleeping in for too long sometimes causes people to feel groggy throughout the day. In that case, you need a nap! It'll give you that rested feeling the first 13 hours of sleep couldn't give you.
4.The stress nap
Responsibilities and obligations can get extremely overwhelming at times. During those moments when you're being pulled in 20 different directions, it will probably be better to just temporarily neglect your responsibilities and nap to have a clearer mind when you wake up. No biggie. Once your eyes open again you will be ready to work!
5.The self-love nap
Your body is your temple and you need to show it some love! If you have spare time in your day when you wouldn't rather be doing anything else, go ahead and nap. You will wake up renewed and pumped to take on the rest of your day.
Peace. Love. Naps.
