I know what you're thinking, not another election post. And, I understand you. It's been everywhere. The past couple of days I haven't been able to be on Facebook for more than 10 minutes without getting frustrated at some of the nasty and offensive posts. But, it has just been bothering me so much, and I feel like I need to share why I am not completely freaking out about this election outcome.

Personally, I consider myself to be quite conservative. That doesn't mean I don't have some liberal views, but overall I am a conservative young woman. I was so excited to vote in this election because it was the first time I got to vote, other than in the primary this past spring. I will openly tell you that I, personally voted for Donald Trump. Call me a racist, uneducated, narrow-minded, but I know what I believe in and what my morals are. I am not racist; I have never been and I never will be. I am educated, and I have kept up with this election since the very beginning, and I'm proud to say that I've watched every presidential debate, both Republican, and Democratic. I am also not narrow-minded. I always have an open mind when it comes to politics and other people's opinions, but my morals are my morals.

Trump was not my ideal candidate, whatsoever. I thought there were many better candidates more fit to be president that were not nominated by the RNC. I personally voted for Marco Rubio in the Virginia primary. I do not agree with the way Trump carries himself, the way he talks about women, and the way he pushes people around. At one point, I considered voting for Hillary, but then I realized that she was just as bad. Neither of these people deserved to be the President of the United States. I was very conflicted and confused for a long time, but then I realized on Election Day that everything was going to be okay.

Trump may be our next president, but our real King is still on the throne. He has never left or forsaken us before, and I know for a fact that He will not leave us now.

Isaiah 41:10- Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (KJV)

I have certainty in Him that I am going to be okay, and that this nation is going to be okay. No matter what leadership we are under, if we look to Him, all of our problems can be solved. We are One Nation Under God, right?

I know people are scared right now, and I understand that. I know that there is a chance that bad things can happen, I know that for sure. But, am I scared? Not one bit, and do you want to know why? Because my God already knows what's going to happen, and He is the one that's in control. Instead of arguing with one another and complaining, why don't we just pray about it? It's all in God's hands, anyway.

Deuteronomy 31:8- And the LORD, he is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. (KJV)

Joshua 1:9- Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee whithersoever thou goest. (KJV)

Matthew 28:20- Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (KJV)

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
