Why Having A Little Brother Is The Best Thing To Happen To Me

14 years ago I never would have thought having a brother would be the best thing to ever happen to me but it definitely is. I love you with all my heart and would do absolutely anything for you. You are my best friend, my twin, the funniest person ever, and most importantly someone who loves me for who I am. Here are 7 reasons why having a little brother is the best thing to happen to me.

1. Someone to constantly annoy

Throughout the years I have found countless ways to annoy you Kris. Whether it's barging in your room in the middle of the night just to ask what you are doing or dragging you on a Starbucks run or secretly filming you while singing in your room..thanks for always letting me bother you!

2. I know I will always have someone there

You have always been here for me, through break ups or difficult times in my life. Though we are 7 years apart, at times it seems you are older than I am. Thank you for always being my shoulder to cry on and the best hug giver there is.

3. Someone to ALWAYS be goofy with

My favorite thing about having a little brother is that we are CONSTANTLY being goofy. From yelling at each other in a joking way, to wrestling and you finally kicking my butt, to riding our bikes around the development, I know I will always have you to laugh with.

4. Being able to watch you grow into an amazing young man

Kris, I could not be more proud of the young man you are becoming. Following in my foot steps and being on the golf team is something I am extremely proud of. Watching you grow up has been the best experience of my life. It feels like yesterday I was just changing your diaper and feeding you a bottle and now you're all grown up. Never stop being YOU kid.

5. Someone who is always the first one to help me feel better when I am sick

Whether it is helping me get hydrated, or fetching the heating up pad for my upset stomach or just giving me a big hug, you are always the first one to help me feel better. I know that no matter what you always have the answer. Thanks for always being the one to fetch me something when I am too lazy to go get it myself. "Drink water Al you are dehydrated"..."eat something with sugar your blood pressure is low". Thanks for keeping me alive bro.

6. Someone who will ALWAYS be honest with me

"Kris does this shirt make me look fat?" "Do you think this guy is cute?" "My hair looks awful doesn't it?". No matter what the question is...you are always truthful. Thanks for that.

7. Someone to experience new things with

I think the best part of moving to Delaware is being able to experience it with you. Watching you make new friends, attend a new school, join a new boy scout troop and the golf team, all of these are things I love watching you do. You were there to move me into U of D and then again to move me out two days later. Thank you for always supporting me in my crazy decisions. Thank you for experiencing this new journey down in DE with me.

Thank you Kris for being the best little brother in the world. I know I give you a lot of crap sometimes (all the time), but that is what I am supposed to do. Thank you for letting me call you a bunch of different nick names but I think Krissy is my favorite. Thank you for being supportive of my life decisions and telling me when you think they're a little too crazy. Thank you for always being my slave because I am too lazy to get things myself. And most importantly Kris thank you for being my best friend. I love you and am so proud of you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
