Who Threw The Worst And Best Baseball First Pitch?

Baseball first pitches can go one of two ways; really really amazingly well... or terribly wrong.

In the game of baseball the first pitch has become a ceremony. It is a pitch that is thrown before the game has even started, it doesn't count, and it is usually thrown by someone famous. The person throwing the first pitch could be a singer, actor, sports star, etc.

Despite these celebrities usually performing in front of thousands of fans all the time, when they step out on the mound and fire the ball to the plate, it can sometimes go really really bad. But, then again, sometimes these people take hold of the moment and deliver a ball that was perfectly placed over the heart of the plate.

Take a look back at some of the worst and best first pitches in baseball history.

The Best of the Best

Cirque du Soleil showing just how athletic they are. This pitch is amazing for two reasons. The first reason is what happens before the pitch, because that side flip was incredible! Then, to follow that up, he puts the ball right down the middle. Maybe the Padres can sign this guy to pitch for their team? Who knows...

Simply Amazing! The fact that Max Ashton, a blind man, was able to do what he did is amazing. The courage that Max has to go out in front of everyone to throw the pitch is incredible, but the fact that he was able to deliver an amazing pitch over the plate is so crazy.

Creativity is key! When Brian Keaton went to throw the first pitch of the game for the Washington Nationals nobody could have expected what he would do. Keaton served in the military for 20 years and that alone deserves so much respect, and his throw is just as awesome.

George W. Bush delivered an amazing pitch under very stressful circumstances. Following the terrorist attack of 9/11, Bush threw the first pitch at Yankee Stadium and the crowd was going crazy after the President threw a great ball right down the middle.

Staying on the President trend, Jimmy Carter also had a great first pitch. Even though the circumstances weren't as tense as Bush's, Carter still threw a great ball.

Does playing football transfer over to playing baseball? Well, Russell Wilson makes a pretty good case after this pitch in Seattle. Wilson was actually drafted by the Texas Rangers, but decided to go the football route. I think it's safe to say that he will always have a spot on the diamond with throws like this.

The end result of this first pitch isn't what makes it so special. The surprise that a young boy gets to have when his dad is the man behind the mask is just priceless. Well done Royals, well done.

Age is just a number, and at 108 years old Evelyn Jones proves that with this first pitch. Don't let your age slow you down at all, just follow in Evelyn's footsteps.

The Boston Bombing shattered many spirits and gave some people disabilities that they may never recover from. That doesn't stop these two brave men from delivering two perfect pitches; they survived the Boston Bombing, both are amazing.

WWE superstar, The Miz, wasted no time in between stepping on the mound and delivering a beautiful ball right down the middle. Very impressive my friend.

The Ones that Got Away (Sometimes Literally)

There are absolutely no words for this one...

There is one thing for certain in this video. Mayor Mark Mallory should never play baseball...ever.

Remember when Michael Jordan played for the Chicago White Sox for a little bit? Yeah, me neither. Well, I think I found why he gave the whole baseball thing up...

I don't know what's worse, Barack Obama's throw, or the fact that he wore a Chicago White Sox hat to a Nationals game. C'mon Obama, have some respect for the home team...

If Nolan Ryan ever thought he could still get on the mound and be dominant, he should think again. Even 12 no hitters can't cover up this embarrassing throw.

50 cent has made so many hip hop hits, but has never thrown out a good first pitch, after this throw nothing has changed...

C'mon now John Wall. You have to do better in front of the home town Nationals. This is just unacceptable from a sports star, but we will cut you a break for your skills on the basketball court. Just please, don't ever consider baseball.

Track is easy for Olympian Carl Lewis, but throwing out the first pitch is another story...

Yet another athlete with a horrendous first pitch, this time by someone who throws footballs for a living. Maybe there wasn't enough air taken out of this ball...

NBA Championship; check. Amazing first pitch thrown; nope.

So, which one takes the cake for the worst throw ever? And which throw has your jaw dropped to the floor? Let me know on Twitter or Facebook!

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
