Emojis have revolutionized the way people communicate forever. In some cases, people will literally talk through them. There is one for every emotion, flag, sport, symbol, etc. There is one that they are missing. Where is this lacrosse emoji? Many people, especially lacrosse players are concerned as to why there is no lacrosse emoji. The sport is growing rapidly and this will only help publicize it more. Maybe it is something against the sport or just they think it would be so complicated. Here are a couple of my theories as to why it might not be in the corner of the keypad.
My first theory as to why there is no lacrosse emoji is because people are unaware of the sport. Lacrosse has been in the dark for way too long. It is starting to become more popular throughout the world. So far, it has made huge impacts on the northeastern side of the United States. On the other side of the country, it is not popular at all. Most schools don't even have a lacrosse program.
Another reason why it might not be created is because it's too much time. A lot of time is going to go into designing a stick to have let alone a person holding one. The components of a lacrosse player may be difficult, but in the end, it would be totally worth it. Not a lot of people can compare because most sports and activities have an emoji designated to them. Emoji designers are probably running out of things to create, so taking the time to create one so greatly demanded emoji would benefit.
Overall, I feel as though the people who play lacrosse and are growing this tradition from many years ago deserve an emoji. It isn't as challenging as it seems. Throughout the years, many varieties of emojis and themes are shown. Why should one sport be shy away because it is not as well known? Lacrosse players are starting to stand up and take a stand to being in the dark. How will you be involved?
