Many items, activities and people that we take for granted go underrated every day. Now that 2016 is upon us, it's time to go through and give everything the attention they deserve this year.

1. Naps

There is nothing better than a nice nap. Snuggling up in your warm bed and just catching up on those long awaited zzz's. College is the perfect time to appreciate the true beauty in a nap. Anytime or length of the day, it really does not matter.

2. Socks

You aren't living if you don't own a pair of fuzzy socks. There are no excuses to why there's no pair in your drawer. A cute pair of socks does more than you think. It adds warmth for your feet during the freezing walks to class, color to your outfit when they pop over your boots, and let's be honest, it's just so fun to take your shoes off and see a pretty pair of socks waiting for you.

3. Chicken Noodle Soup

Just challenge yourself to order it from a restaurant when you aren't sick. Spoiler alert: it will still be delicious. Chicken noodle soup is a classic for a reason, and it's main job shouldn't just be for when we don't feel well and our moms won't let us eat anything else. Let's show some respect for the soup.

4. Turtlenecks

Speaking of respect, s/o to anyone who is wearing a turtleneck right now while reading this. It's people like you who make the world a better place. You understand the efficiency of the turtleneck. Like socks, it keeps you warm and cozy while also providing an adorable look.

5. Throwback Tunes

I get it, you hear a new song on the radio and it takes over your life for the next three days. Then once you're done listening to it on repeat for those past three days, you space it out every other song. We all are guilty of that. But we shouldn't forget about the oldies (yes, I'm talking High School Musical 1) Give your playlist a little blast from the past with "The Real Slim Shady", "Genie in the Bottle" or the original "Baby Got Back", so sorry, Nicki Minaj. You probably weren't even conceived yet when these songs came out, but that doesn't stop us from singing and dancing with these goodies.

6. Disney World

Wait a second, wasn't this article about underrated things? Isn't Disney World so overrated? Not at all. I hear more people saying how boring it is, when it is more than the most magical place on Earth. Everyone who hates on the OG Mickey Mouse needs to go take a lap.

7. Cereal

It is one of the easiest meals to prepare, and with all the different varieties there are, no one should have any problems with it. Feeling fit and healthy? Try a bowl of Special K. Is your sweet tooth tempting you? Grab those Reece's Puffs and pour away. The cereal to milk ratio is in your hands as well as the level of crunchiness you want it to be. Be the boss of your own life and go eat some cereal.

8. Going on walks

The next time you're bored and feel like pounding your head against the wall, instead get up and go for a quick walk. You can even stay in your pajamas if you want. The fresh air outside will surely brighten your mood and help you go back to sanity. And if the weather is awful, do some laps around your house. The only one judging you will be your dog, and believe me, your dog has a lot more to judge you on.

Hopefully this sparked other ideas of what you've been missing out on. Never forget about the simple things in life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
