Anyone who plays a collegiate sport of any division knows of the hype associated with season ending. After a long season of kicking a** and taking names, we look forward to finally being able to unwind from all of the physical and mental tolls it took on us. But as the days go on after season ends, you find yourself having to make more decisions on things because your schedule isn't as regulated and tight as it used to be. Instead of being forced to do your homework and not go out on Friday nights, all of a sudden you realize you have time for so many new activities.

You have almost endless free time

After you finish your classes, you realize that you have all this free time. Since six hours out of your day isn't taken up by practice and lifting, you come to the brilliant realization that you can watch Netflix and sleep more. It seems like you have all the time in the world. Three hours can go by, and you'll still feel like you have so much time to do your homework.

You actually have to watch what you eat

Now that you aren’t working out every day and working off those mountains of food you usually eat, you can’t go back for thirds of your favorite pepperoni pizza. You have to settle for two slices and a salad.

You miss your teammates more than your family

In season, you saw each other every day, and ate dinner every day. You would eat, sleep, breath, and shower together. But now when you cross paths during the day, you guys hug like it’s been ten years since you last saw each other.

You break a sweat walking to class now

Now that your coach isn’t telling you to “get on the line” 24/7, and you aren’t as active, walking to class is a little bit harder than you remember. You get to class, and you have the classic sweat ‘stache and one single bead of sweat going down your spine.

Going to the gym is 50 times harder than it used to be

Since you aren’t always in the recreation center, going to the gym is all of sudden a huge hassle. Nor do you have someone on your team to go with to the gym. You know that your coach isn’t keeping tabs on your gym time, so you figure it wouldn’t be the worst thing if you ordered Domino’s cheesy bread instead of doing those three rounds of planks.

You can go out with your friends on Friday nights now

Now that you don’t have a game on Saturday, you can go get wasted with your NARP friends (Non-Athletic Regular People). You don’t have to settle for the half-assed Saturday night parties. You can go to the crazy Friday night parties that you usually only saw in pictures and heard about.

You have post-season depression from not playing the sport all the time

At the end of season you couldn’t wait to rid yourself of the godforsaken sport that caused you so much physical and mental stress. But now you get giddy over being able to go to open gyms and get back to playing what you love to hate.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
