NBA Playoffs are heating up as the final game approaches. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors, and Oklahoma City Thunder are the final four teams remaining at the end of the seven month season. Not surprisingly, the playoffs bring big plays and big drama on and off the court. From insanely difficult dunks to crazy, unexpected come backs, to Riley Curry, sport stations everywhere have been covering every minute of NBA action. Whether or not you’ve been watching this, there is probably one name you know when you think basketball - and that name is Lebron James. Lebron James, a forward for the Cavaliers, is a star in the world of basketball, and an icon in culture today. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise when you hear that he is one of the highest paid basketball players this season, falling only behind Kobe Bryant. This year alone, not counting endorsement deals and other non-NBA sources of income, Lebron made about 23 million dollars. Now, he spends it being Lebron James – but if you made $23 Million a year what could you get?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots.
