20 What-Ifs To Get A Conversation Going

Sometimes, the conversation takes a sharp left to boredom and silence and you feel like it's going to take a while until a new road appears. And in those moments, what you might need is an imaginary road into the world of what-ifs. So here are 20 what-ifs that could lead you to a better time.

1. What would you if you were told you had 48 hours to live?

This is a classic one, but it could also help tell a lot about a person. What they value, what they dream of doing, or just what they like.

2. What if we didn't look the way we do, but what we envision aliens to look?

We would probably think that we look weird... but what about us would be weird from that perspective?

3. What would we do, if we actually found aliens?

I mean...like how the heck would we go about that? Unless....we already have

4. What if we didn't have love?

What would we be without love? What would be the "dominant" feeling in relationships then? What would we base our passions off of? So many questions in one.

5. What if religion did not exist?

Not to trigger anything, so take this one with precaution. Think about it; what if it didn't exist? What would be our main source of faith? Would we be more connected or even more separated than we are now?

6. What if you had to choose between wealth and wisdom?

Which one would you pick? Why?

7. What if there are such things as soulmates?

If there are actually things as soulmates, then how would we know who to pick. Some people "fall in love" or even get married multiple times. Would we know we are with our soulmate because we agree to always make it work, or are we missing them by chance? Will there ever be a way to truly know?

8. What if you already let go of your soulmate or you weren't assigned one?

Would you still be in love if you knew that? Would you be more motivated to change destiny?

9. What if you could remember everything since the moment your brain developed?

Yup, you could potentially remember your birth...

10. What if the purge was real?

Would you hide or participate? If you would participate, what would you do? Steal? Kill?

11. What if you had a tree that literally grew money?

Would you buy everything you ever dreamed of? Live lavish? Simple? Would you help end world hunger? Would you participate in the ignorance of money minds?

12. What if you could heal only one illness?

Would you even do it? What would it be? Why that illness?

13. What if you had the power to give everyone one skill?

What skill would you give them? At birth or at a certain age? Why that skill?

14. What if our world was underwater and the land was what we didn't know much about?

To put this in perspective, it would be basically flipping them around. So instead of Earth being 29% land and 71% water, it would be 29% water and 71% land. How would our lives be different? What animals would we not know about? What animals would still be alive?

15. What if we all woke up and were all only one skin color?

And I'm not talking black or white. I mean like straight up purple! (or something "wild")

16. What if everyone's eyes changed based on their mood?

If eyes tell it all, it would tell even more. Would you want that or would not want it? What if the only option to not having mood eyes, would be to have solid black eyes?

17. What if your whole life is a lie, and you're not actually alive?

Something like the matrix. You think you're alive and doing things, but in all actuality, you haven't lived a day in your life and it's all a dream.

18. What if the reason we can't die in our dreams, is because we would be waking up from the simulation we're in?

I know the most common theory is because we don't know what happens after death, but what if we do know and our minds are so controlled we can't escape it?

19. What if you had the chance to change something in history, would you?

Potentially risk not being born or potentially making things worse or maybe better? Would you take it upon yourself to do it?

20. What if there are no real answers to any questions in the world?

We are just making things up so we feel better and pretend we know, but all the knowledge... is nothing real.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
